[Goals for thr rest of the book: VOTES - 100]

A round object burst through the window, throwing broken glass everywhere. Perople ducked for their lives, hands over there heads as the last of the broken shards slid along the floor. "What in the world was that?" someone asked as people came out of their ball positions wherever they collapsed when the thing came from through the window. Everyone came slowly, though, like hermit crabs coming out of their shell after being handled by a child for the past five minutes and finally put back in their tank.

"Did anyone see it?" I asked, getting back on my feet and carefully tip-toeing around the broken glass near the window. There was a gaping hole in the window, sharp edges glissening in the sun. I looked outside, but nothing except green grass, blue sky, trees and a few birds were to be seen. I took one last glass out the window and then walkedaway slowly, avoiding the sharp edges on the floor again.

"What happened?" The door burst open and revealed Greg, followed by Jake, holding a baseball bat.

"I'm not sure," I began, "We heard bagning at door but didn't check because we can't use it. It went away and I heard footsteps, but then something flew through the window and broke it." I pointed at the glass on the floor and the broken window, then walked out of the midst of the shards and back to a chair as Greg moved closer, ear tilted towards the floor.

"Do you hear that? Do you hear that? Tick, tick, tick, tick, beep, tick, I hear it. Do ya, do ya? Find it!" Everyone scattered, listening for the noise as Greg walked around, head cocked to one side. I walked around, but heard nothing. I moved closer to where Greg had walked in and orginally heard the noise and bent down low, careful not to get any glass in my hands. There it was: Tick, tick, tick, tick, beep, tick. I crept lower and crawled around, looking for where the noise was coming from. I got closer to the extra chair in the corner, a lamp standing tall next to it, as the sound got louder.

"Greg, over here?" he shot up and ran over, nearly knocking the lmap on top of me when he stopped short. He got down on his hands and knees and pressed his ear aginst the leather of the chair.

"Yes," he laughed a deviuous laugh, "Yes. Yes. Yes! That's it. Help me." He got up and grabbed ahold of the arm of the chair and oushed, then looked at me again. "Help?" I nodded and got up, grabbing hold right beside him and pushed along on his count, the chair sliding out of the way along the floor with a squeal.

The ticking sound got louder as a little round, grey ball appeared into sight. "Bomb!" I yelled, running away from the chair and causing everyone to flee to the furthest corners of the room and tightened into theior balls again.

I watched as Greg pushed it with the lamp, stroking his chin. He shook his head and picked it up, turning it in his hands. "What are you -" Larry, who was next to me, yelled.

"Shush! It's simply plastic with a sound effect." he said, then threw the thing on the floor. It shattered into pieces, thr ticking stopped and a paper was left among the glass and plastic pieces on the wooden floor. He bent down and picked up the paper as everyone gathered around to see what the paper said, and why.

The room filled with question, none of which were answered. Greg stayed silent despite ther buzz the room held and all of the questions yet to be answered. People pushed to the front of the crowd, elbowing other's guts only to be pushed back again. I stayed near the back, knowing I would be told eventually; there was no need to act like five-year-olds wanting to see the bunny that was brought to show-and-tell.

"Back up!" Greg suddenly demanded, causing everyone to take a few large steps backwards, opening the circle up so everyone could be in front. I took my place and watched as Greg stared at the paper. He looked at me and then began to read it aloud:

I know you are looking for me, and are ready to find me. But I will defeat every last one of your ratty helpers first! I don't get defeated - you should know. You know my name and sure as hell know my game, so why try when I'm gping to deliever a packed ounch right into the middle of your precious little plan. You can try, but I can sure run, and I can even hide. Don;t strain too much, because it isn't woprth it. Alex will end up dead this time. I wasn't trying to make it so, but now I will. He will die; he must die. YOu will never find me, just a dead female body of whom was previously mentioned. That's right: I said female. Screw every last one of you, and I hope you stop before I stop it for you. Xoxo, Philip.

The room filled was gasps and questions once again, and everyone darted forward, leaving me behind. I stayed there.

Yes, I was scared; I was terrified. He wasn't out to kill me, I guessed that, but now he was. Before he wanted to hurt me, badly, and he did, maybe worse than planned. He could kill me if he wanted, I knew that. And apparently he did want, so I guess that meant. . .

No. It can't.

I refuse to die on his terms. I refuse to let him foil our plan with his devious ones. He won't win. We will. After all, we have the cops and authorties and the general public. I have the fans.  We needed to find him, and we were ready. More than ready. A little shake won't ruin our feast.

As long as I didn't die first.

[A/N: So, I said i was sutting Don't Wake Me Up on hold until I got myself together.

Basically, I go to camp and don't get home until four every day, adn by the time it eat dinner, etc., etc., I'm more than tired. It's hard to get 1,000 words in at five o'clock, esp. when I have other things to do. I do try, but it's too much top keep two stories going at once at four every day. This book is almost over and will be followed by a sequel, but the updates are very scattered, therefore it may take the rest of the summer to get a few chapters in the next.

I don't know when Don't Wake ME Up will be continued, as I do start my first day of freshman year in September. I will try my best. Please be patient and I promise updates will follow. Thank you.
