"But, seriously," I said, clutching my stomach from laughter.

"No, I'm not kidding!" Jake said, tears forming in his eyes.

"That's awful, though! How could someone do that?" I looked around the oh-so-familiar hospital room (they all look the same) and wiped my eyes. Although I was still sitting in a hospital, I wasn't in the bed, and for some reason, sitting here with Jake, it felt good. It felt like I was a new person, a new free person and no one could contain me. I finally felt like a human again.

They brought basically everyone from the camp - which we now call Section 666, or 666 for short - to the same hospital, and or the past two days I've ben making rounds to everyone I was allowed to visist so they wouldn't feel alone. Only a few of the families had been contacted because we simply can't find them. They're out there somewhere, we just dont know where. Jake was always the last person I visited because spending time with him lifted this weight off my shoulders. I didn't want a time frame with Jake. I usually had certain people I wet to every day because of our connection in the Nursery, but I was sure to visit almost everyone. My regulars were Izzy, Jacob, Valerie (which were all in the same room, so it was extremely easy), Nicole and Gertrude (who never failed to ask me questions althugh she was hooked up to about five machines.

"I don't know," Jake said, sighing. He scratched his head then turned his hand over, staring at the needle taped to his hand. It delievered liquids to his bodyall day, every day.

"I mean, if that were me, I wouldn't do that to you. . ." i sid, automatically wishing I could take it back.

"Really?"

"Never mind. . ." I said, digging my fingers into the back of my neck. Sure, Jake was super nice and cool and had a nice face that I really, really liked but he didn't need to know that just yet. Or ever.

"No, tell me," he said with a smirk. I shook my head and looked away, then lifted myself out of my chair and headed towards thw window. I pulled the curtain out of the way and leaned against the pane, staring out at the busy street below. "Alex." He said, demanding an answer. I turned, leaning back against the window. "Come sit." I nodded relunctantly and walked back to my chair and sat down pulling it closer to the bed. I leaned forward on to my elbows, staring at Jake.

"I just. . . I should've kept my mouth shut." He shook his head and sat up. He closed his eyes ans shifted his body closer to mine, then pulled my head down.

Then he kissed me.

His lips moved gently against mine, soft and slow, and I cherished every moment of it. I felt something different with Jake than I did with Jessie or anyone else, It special, and like it meant something. . . not just another sign of affection on the lips with another pair of lips. It sounded sappy, but it was true. Jake was something.

He pulled back, making a pop sound (making us both laugh). "I've wanted to do that since the first day I saw you," he said, then plopped himself back onto the pillow. "On YouTube."

"No."

"Yes, shut up. It's weird, I know."

"That was anything but weird," I said quickly, my mind racing. It was one of those times where you absolutely can't stand yourself for saying something, but then realize that what you did was one of the best things ever, and you almost want to pat yourself on the back for doing so.

"Really?"

"Yes, I mean, I could go for another round." I smiled, watching Jake's eyes light up. "But I didn't say that."

"Say what?"

"Exactly. And hey, I know we met in Section 666 which is the absolute worst place ever and you went through a lot of hell because of me and I understand if you'd hate me for it and you don't and I think that's really cool and you're really cool and although I'm rambling you're still listening which is amazing. Anyway, they say you meet the most important people in your life in the weirdest situations and I can kinda tell as long as you don't get tired of me we could be friends for a long time. This is totally weird and random but, Jake, will you go out with me?"

"Yes, I would love to. Plus, that was my next question. I see you beat me to it." he laughed, a real genuine laugh that was so hard for him lately. A lot more happened in 666 to him than anyone else and I'm not sure why, all I know is that it was awful what they did and it made him a totally different person and he's suffering from it extremely. He just cries at times because of the way they treated him and they way they touched him and it makes me feel awful. Either way, he can get through it.

"I win." I said quietly, then pushed my chair back and stood up and pushed Jake over, leaving a little space next to him. I adjusted his wires and IVs, then crawled into the bed next to him as it creaked.

"Oh, this is nice." he said, turning his body just slightly. I nodded and placed a finger over his lips, then poked his nose and closed my eyes.

He spoke quietly about everything and anything for what felt like hours, his arm slung over my body, mine over his. He went on and on, not needing an answer, just someone to listen. Eventually, the rom fell silent and opened my eyes, finding him asleep. I watched him sleep for a while before driftin off myself, forgetting everything for a while.

[A/N: Okay, so since this is the last stretch of chapters, I decided to put the goals for the rest of the book instead of the chapter. Please, help me get there. hare this with your friends and family or whatever you want, and I promise I'll do something in return. I'll put you in my status for a day or like, dedicate a chapter to you. I can use your name in the sequel or something idk. Just please share this, I promise you'll get something.
