It's the day before summer break and Lucas and I are planning a road trip to my parents place. A lot has happened since Grey left. My parents have apologized and we're back on good terms.
"Hey babe when are we going to your parent's house?"
Lucas asked from the kitchen.
"Well not until after school. Don't want to disappoint we kids you know? I've gotten close to them."
He came into the living room with two plates smiling. I accepted the breakfast and smiled back at him. Since Grey left Lucas has been the sweetest he has ever been before. I really love him...
"Why are you smiling?"
I asked. He sat down and kissed my forehead.
"I don't know... I just... I.. Am happy."
"Well that sure was hesitant."
"Don't question me Lucas Wren."
He leaned over and pinned me to the couch. I felt his hand go up my side and I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him. He chuckled and as I was about to ask him what he started to tickle me.
"Lucas stop it!"
I yelled trying to push him away.
"Lucas stop! I'm gonna pee, I'm gonna pee!"
He laughed hard and let me go. I ran to the bathroom and when I came out I slapped his arm.
"That wasn't funny!"
"I'm sorry baby come here."
He said in a "baby-voice" and outstretched his arms. I slapped his hand and walked away.
"Nope you're a bully. Get ready grease ball we need to get to school."
He laughed and stood up hopping in the shower as I got dressed in my room. We packed our bags last night so that we can leave right after school. He finished getting ready and we went down to his car and were off to school.
Carson never warmed up to me during the year. Daniel did though so I'm actually pretty happy about that.
"Hey Rina."
"Hey Daniel."
"You doing okay? You know, with Grey gone for so long and all?"
I smiled at his sweetness and nodded.
"Yes Daniel I'm fine."
He cocked his and and smiled just like Grey... Mischievously...
"Do you know what fine means Rina?"
"What does fine mean Daniel?"
"Freaked-out, insecure, neurotic, and emotional."
I laughed and shook my head.
"Alright Daniel go sit down."
He smiled and went to his seat. During home room I wished all of the kids a happy summer and told them I'd miss them. The final bell rang and I went to find Lucas.
"You ready hon?"
He asked kissing my forehead.
"Yeah let's go. My mom is expecting us there by six so if we're late she'll get pissy. Let's get a move on."
We hopped in the car and headed for the highway.
"When do you think we should hang out with my family?"
He asked. I shrugged. I've never really thought of meeting his family before, I guess I didn't want to commit so wholeheartedly to him. I'm ready now though.
