Lucas and I are going to meet his family tonight.
"What should I wear?"
I asked.
"Anything is fine."
He replied. I glared at his response as he chuckled.
"Capris and a tank top?"
"Make sure it's a fancyish tank top."
"........ ... We're going shopping get dressed."
I popped up off of the couch.
"With what money?"
I scoffed.
"Yours duh. You are in fact the boyfriend and I'm meeting your family tonight."
I went and got dressed. Short shorts and a t shirt with flip flops. My usual summer outfit. Lucas and I walked hand in hand down to his car and were off to the mall. After about an hour I found an entire new outfit and necklace I thought matched perfectly and we shopped for Lucas too. Eventually we had to run back to my place to change and were off to meet Lucas' familia.
It was an hour or so drive until we got there and as we stepped through the door the air filled my nose. It smelled wonderful. The house was big and white. To my immediate right there was a table and a mirror above it. To the left there was a curve staircase leading to the upstairs. Around the wall there was a dinning room painted light green with a giant dark brown table in the middle that was set with a feast. Lucas grabbed my hand and led me through the house. We went upstairs to his old room.
"My parents have kept it almost the same since I left."
He had trophies on shelves along side a few books. The walls were a dark blue and his blankets were a lime green. The rug was black and I'm wondering if that was a rebellion thing, because the rest of the house had white carpets.
We went downstairs and his mom met us in the hallway at the end of the stairs.
"Hello! You must be Rina, my name is Hellen I'm Lucas' stepmother."
She had the same blonde hair and blue eyes... But there's something about her that I feel strange about. She looks like the kind of woman that cares more about her name and reputation than anything or anyone else... I dislike her. His dad came up to us and gently gathered my hand in big of his. He had the sweetest of smiles and was tall... Enormously tall... He had brown hair that did that wave thing and swooped from one side if his forehead to the other, like the superman curl. He had glasses that fit his lanky awkward frame.
"My name is Charles but you can call me whatever makes you comfortable. Welcome to my home Rina."
I smiled and nodded.
"Pleased to meet you Mr. Wren."
He bobbed our hands.
"The pleasure is all mine."
He led us all into the dinning room and we sat. Charles at the head of the table and his wife at the foot. I sat between Charles and Lucas as we waited for Lucas' brother and little sister to join us. We heard footsteps coming from upstairs and they appeared together in the doorway.
I was stunned to see the girl from the mall sitting at that table. She finally looked at me and was stunned herself.
"Rina, this is Max my little brother, and Clarrisse my sister."
"Step."
Clarrisse said.
I nodded.
"Hello."
