Grainger followed Malice on board the ship and sat down next to her. Grainger flipped a few switches and pressed a few buttons, one that closed the doors to the ship and one that started the engines. Malice looked out the front and waited to be signaled. Finally, she saw the yellow marker wave letting her know it was clear to take off. Malice pushed the grey button in and held it there for a few seconds until she felt the ship lift off the ground. With Grainger as the co-pilot and Malice as the pilot, they blast off to rescue Valarina.
"What will we do when we get into the galaxy?" Grainger asked.
"We start on the first planet and work our way through the galaxy until we find her and bring her home." Malice stated.
Grainger sat back in his seat as Malice put on the auto-pilot. Both unbuckled their seat belts and got up from the chairs. Grainger wandered around the ship. It was one of the biggest ships he had ever been on.
"This is a real beauty." Grainger called from the kitchen. He opened the fridge and grabbed a yogurt cup.
"Well it's certainly not the biggest ship I've been on but it is a nice ship." Malice remarked staring at the pictures on the cabin walls. This caused Grainger to choke on the yogurt.
"This isn't the biggest ship you've been on?" Grainger coughed."Are you kidding? I used to build ships before Ryder died and we would race them. Ryder and I were best friends before we got married. We were childhood friends. We once built a ship together that was set a galaxy record for biggest ship. It took us years but we sure had a lot of fun." Malice cooed as she strolled into the kitchen to meet Grainger. The pictures seemed older. Maybe from the time of the war. Just then, they hurt a beeping from the front of the ship followed by flashing lights and loud sirens. Grainger tossed his yogurt to the side and sprinted to see what was going on. When he arrived at the front of the ship, he saw a small screen that read, 'Caution- destination approaching! Turn off auto-pilot!'.
"Malice!" Grainger yelled as he flipped more switches and sat down. Malice came running in, saw the screen, and sat down in the pilot's seat.
They could see Headwind from the front dash. The galaxy was a swirl of brightly colored purples and pinks, unlike Ragnarok which was seen as a swirl of black and red.
"Look!" Grainger stated pointing to the galaxy. Malice nodded with a smile and turned off auto-pilot. That caused the lights and sirens to turn off. It only took a few minutes before Malice had landed the ship on a bright purple planet.
"Wow!" Grainger exclaimed looking at the waterfall cascading on his left and and a sandy beach to his right. Malice looked around before pressing the button to open the ship. Grainger and Malice stood, gathered a bag of supplies, and exited. As soon as they left the ship, they where surrounded by soldiers.
"Stop! Put your hands up!" one yelled. Grainger and Malice dropped their bags and put there hands up. The soldiers had large guns pointed right in their faces.
"Who are you?" A voice called. A beautiful girl stepped out from behind a soldier. She was wearing a long, flowing, blue dress with a braid in her dark black hair. Her eyes were strikingly green and her hair had small flowers woven in the braid. She must have been royalty because she was wearing a crown. Grainger stared at her, his eyes wandering over her.
"I am Grainger from Ragnarok and this is Malice Turner." Grainger sternly stated lowering his hands.
"Malice?" the girl questioned walking over to Malice. She looked at Malice and Malice looked back at her.
"It is you!" the girl cried.
"Valarina?" Grainger gasped.
"Princess Valarina of Headwind." Valarina stated. Grainger stared with his mouth gaping open. His cousin was a princess.
"Valarina!" Malice shouted running to hug her. Valarina hugged her back and stared at Grainger over Malice's shoulder. Grainger smiled.
"Who are you?" Valarina asked pointing to Grainger.
"I am Grainger. Grainger Cross." Grainger stated.
"I am Valarina Cross so you're Uncle Ryder's son. I am so sorry for what my mother did. Hopefully, you can forgive me." Valarina remarked.
"We have come to bring you home." Grainger interjected, trying to change the topic from his aunt and his father.
"Home?" Valarina asked as if she was confused.
"Back to Ragnarok with us." Grainger replied.
"I am not going back there. Not with Anna still breathing." Valarina retorted.
"We need your help. Anna has taken over the galaxy and tried to kill me. She said if I didn't kill Malice that she would kill me and Malice. We can't do it without you!" Grainger sighed.
Valarina sighed and looked down at the ground. She looked up at Grainger and smiled. Then a girl came out of the forest behind them. She was wearing a black, skin-tight, one piece fighting outfit. She was about Grainger's height with long, light brown hair. She had piecing hazel eyes and light freckles. Grainger stared as she came over to him.
"Hello." She stated raising an eyebrow at Grainger. He was still staring at her with his mouth open. She is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen! Grainger thought.
"Are you going to introduce yourself?" The girl teased.
"Sorry, I am Grainger Cross of Ragnarok." Grainger mentioned still staring.
"A prince?" the girl asked.
"Well, not yet. I am a knight but I should be a prince." Grainger sighed.
"Related to Anna Turner or Malice Turner?" the girl asked again.
"Yes. Actually, Malice is my mother." Grainger replied. The girl walked closer to Grainger. He couldn't keep his eyes off of her.
"Well then, you are a prince. You just don't have a crown, like me. I am Princess Sofia Kappen." Sofia cooed looking at Grainger. His hair was dark and tossed in the breeze. His eyes were a brilliant blue and Sofia liked this.
