"Is that a microwave?" Joelee deadpanned as she watched Killian place a makeshift EEG made from an old football helmet onto Connor's head.
"Yes. Yes it is." Killian confirmed as Connor gulped rather nervously at how dangerous this whole setup actually looked to him.
"You're not going to microwave his brain, are you?" Joelee asked rather awkwardly as she watched Killian clicked on a TV which was attached to the microwave with a cable.
"Technically no. But if you want to say that because it sounds funny... Then, yes. I'm going to reheat my leftovers. Get it? Because I had to meddle with his brain to remove the mind control device?" Killian grinned which caused Connor to release a soft sigh as he prepared himself for his slow and agonizing death.
"You're sure this is safe?" Joelee ignored Killian's joke as she walked over to give Connor's hand a reassuring squeeze, the male swallowing heavily once again as his heart pounded heavily in his chest.
He didn't fear death necessarily, more along the lines of he feared something going wrong and him having to live through the pain this would cause him. A quick death would be preferable to a halfway microwaved brain.
"Don't you trust me?" Killian frowned as he hesitated to look at Joelee, thin eyes tilted downward now to mimic the rest of his expression as he gazed at her rather sadly.
"I trust you. I'm just a little concerned about Connor... Plus... My electric bill." Joelee gave a small smile as Killian's eyes crinkled around the corners a bit to show he found her last comment amusing as Connor gave a nervous chuckle.
"Don't worry. The outlet alone doesn't provide enough power so I had to bring out the big guns." Killian grinned as he walked closer to the microwave now, a loud beeping filling the room as he entered a password into the timer.
"What's the big guns?" Connor questioned as he watched Killian cautiously, thankful for Joelee comforting him so that he at least had someone to hold his hand when he died a slow and painful death.
"Two double A batteries." Killian said before pressing the start button, a gasp ripping from Connor's throat as pain flooded through his head causing him to close his eyes as the lights around him seemed to make it so much more uncomfortable.
The television flickered, a bright white light filling the room and nearly blinding Joelee and Killian, but Joelee's eyes adjusted significantly faster than Killian's as she focused on the screen rather intently.
"I don't think it's working. I'll turn it off." Killian hesitated as the sound of laughter filled the room, the screen dimming a bit to show a beautiful woman smiling at the screen... Or Connor in this instance.
"I wish I could see the looks on their face when all of those feminine hygiene products spill out of their lockers." The woman giggled as she pulled Connor into a brightly lit room, plopping down on a large gray couch as she gazed at him through her long eyelashes.
"I envy you. You get to see it firsthand." She continued in a forlorn voice, stunning green eyes seeming almost sad now as she released a soft sigh.
"You shouldn't envy me." Connor's voice was cold and void of emotion as he spoke, it startled Joelee a bit as she realized that his voice sounded the exact same as it had the day he refused to help her when she had first been taken to her cells.
"I know you're not completely free but honestly I do envy you. You have much more freedom than I do. I miss the outside... I miss the sunlight." The woman sighed quietly as she leaned her head back once again, her waist length, brunette hair tumbling over the back of the couch as she flipped it up to allow the cool air from the overhead fan to reach her neck.
