"Maybe Killian isn't as smart as you thought." Sam murmured as they tossed their hair over their shoulder, a single beaded braid hanging in their face while the rest of their brown, neck length hair hung loose around their head. They wore a black skintight suit beneath dark gray armor which they wore over their chest, and shoulders. The metal gloves and boots they wore matched the color of the armor, while they wore a rounded Norse helmet over their head, revealing only the lower half of their face. Their eyes were lined with black eyeliner with dark purple war paint covering their eyelids, streaking down to their cheeks while their lips were also stained with the same dark paint.

"He is as smart as I think he is. This is odd." Skinwalker murmured as she stared across the water at the Statue of Liberty, golden eyes studying Lady Liberty's face as she chewed on her lower lip thoughtfully.

"What's odd?" Obsidian's voice startled Skinwalker, though she had sensed that he was nearby, the fact that he was constantly flying everywhere made it hard for her to tell just how close he was.

"We tracked Thermobaric here but his signal only leads to liberty island." Skinwalker explained as she released a low breath, watching as the male landed in front of her, eyes studying her as he seemed to notice just how worn down she appeared.

"We'll find him. If his signal is here then that means he's close." Obsidian assured them both, Skinwalker turning away from him as she instead focused her gaze on her friend.

"Magni, what do you want to do? He's not anywhere down here so do you want to check the island itself?" Skinwalker questioned as Magni raised their head, frown remaining on their features as they gave a slow nod. The Norse helmet they wore concealed their expression slightly but Skinwalker had known them long enough to know when they were worried, the war paint and armor could only do so much to hide their fear from her.

But being a mind reader was definitely a plus too.

"How? I can fly you over but everything is locked up and there's almost definitely a security system.... Plus there's guards stationed everywhere." Skinwalker said nothing as she lightly tapped on her mask before she reached up to pull a bobby-pin out of her hair, walking towards the edge of the pier they stood on as she gazed across the water at Liberty island.

"You know what to do." Skinwalker murmured which caused Obsidian and Magni to exchange confused glances, wondering just who she was actually talking to as she wasn't facing either one of them now.

"Already? How many guards? Interesting.... Okay." Skinwalker turned to face the two of them, eyes flicking to Obsidian who looked incredibly confused now.

"Can you manage to fly us both over there without getting spotted?" Skinwalker questioned, gaze flicking over to where a guard was slowly approaching them but luckily they were concealed by the darkness as he walked right by them.

"I mean I can try... But what are you planning for when we get there?" Obsidian kicked off of the ground, holding out his hand to Skinwalker but Magni grabbed it instead with a hard glare.

"Don't you trust me?" Skinwalker teased as Obsidian allowed Magni to wrap their arms around his neck, flush against his back while Obsidian reached down for Skinwalker again.

"You put me in the back seat so that you could carry her like you did last time." Magni whispered to Obsidian who swallowed heavily, otherwise ignoring the hero as he lifted Skinwalker into his arms, choosing to hold her against his chest rather than bridal style this time.

Magni snickered in Obsidian's ear but he ignored them as he took off, gaining quite a bit of height before they flew towards liberty island.

Skinwalker's eyes widened as she stared breathlessly at the statue below them, illuminated by the search lights as the waves crashed against the pier below.
