Starting Over Again [Sequel to The Roommates]

Chapter 2

Serenity's POV:

Me & Ashton were staring at each other while everyone else was frozen. There was complete silence. "What's going on?" the girl next to Ash said "Haha. She's completely lost" Luke laughed as Ashton gave Luke the, 'Stop it' look. "Ashy! Let's go upstairs now!" The girl whined. "Okay honey." He said still staring at me and getting pulled up by that girl. A feeling inside me was burning and wanted to cry but a part of me was happy for ashton. But for right now I wanted to be alone and think about things.

"Ren...." Luke reached out for my shoulder. I took a deep breath and turned around to Luke and smiled. "I'm so glad to be home! I'm gonna go freshen up now and get my stuff unpacked! So see you later!" I said running up to my room. "Wait- Ren-!" But it was too late, I already slammed my door shut. While I was inside my room I sat against the door. I felt a tear run down my face. I quickly wiped away my tears & went to the bathroom. I took a quick shower, dried my hair, & got dressed. While I was getting dressed I heard someone knocking on my door.

"Ren.. are you okay?" I heard Luke ask standing outside my door. "I'm fine, why?" I asked "Um, we're going to the park later & we're wondering if you'd like to come with us" Luke replied "What time?" I asked "In 10 minutes" he replied "Oh, okay. I'll be out in a few" I replied "Okay" he replied. I sighed & sat down on my bed. "Should- Should I really go.?" I asked myself "What if I accidentally burst into tears in front of them?" I asked myself again. All I was thinking about was the negative things. But, I still went to the park with them. The guys told me about Ashton & his new girlfriend, Alexa.

They told me all things Ashton loved about her. I wanted to tear up. But I managed to keep a straight face. They also told me that they couldn't handle her because she was to self-centered & needy. & she never gives the guys enough time to hangout with Ashton. "We're sorry we didn't tell you sooner, we just-" Luke paused "We just didn't want to see you cry" Calum finished Luke's sentence. "Are you okay?" Michael asked "Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" I replied & smiled. The four of us talked while Ashton & his girlfriend were playing around in the park.

Calum's POV:

"Are you okay?" Michael asked "Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" Serenity replied & smiled while watching Ashton play around in the park with Alexa. I saw pain in her eyes. She looked like she was gonna break down but she didn't. She stopped looking at them & smiled at us. "Serenity.. How could you still smile when someone you love has been taken away from you..?" I asked her in my head while looking at her smile. After the park we all went back to our apartment. Ashton walked Alexa back to her house & then came to our apartment. We were all sitting down on the couch watching tv.

Ashton sat down as Serenity looked at him. He didn't pay any attention to her. He pretty much acted like she wasn't here. She stopped looking at Ash & looked down at her hands. "Um, I'm gonna go to sleep now. Goodnight" Serenity said & smiled "Night!" Me, Luke, & Mikey replied "Whatever" Ashton replied as she went up to her room. "What the heck!" Luke said & hit Ashton's arm "What?" Ash replied "How could you act so heartless to Serenity?" Luke asked "How could you act so nice to Serenity but not Alexa?" he replied "She's better than her anyway" he said heartlessly.

"Ash, what's wrong with you? You've never acted this way before. You never acted like this until you started dating Alexa" I said "Don't include Alexa in this. She has nothing to do with me" he replied "Are you sure? When you first started dating Alexa you've been acting different. When you were with Serenity, you seemed like the regular ole Ashton" I replied. He looked at me for a few seconds & finally spoke. "I'm gonna go sleep now" he said & left the living room.

Serenity's POV:

I was laying down on my bed. I heard the door next to my room slam. The room next door to me was Ashton. I heard Ashton talking on the phone. "No, okay? I don't have feelings for her anymore" he said "I love you, not her" he added. I covered my face with my pillow so I wouldn't have to hear him talking to Alexa. After Ashton finally finished talking to Alexa I put the pillow back behind my head & went to sleep.
