Starting Over Again [Sequel to The Roommates]

Chapter 4

Calum's POV:

"Yeah, I'm fine. I just- need to use the bathroom" Serenity said & started walking to the bathroom while wiping her eyes. When she left I talked to Mikey & Luke. "I think there's something wrong with Serenity" I said "We know, she's been acting different since she came home" Michael replied "Probably because of Ashton" Luke replied & glanced at him. Few minutes later Serenity came out of the bathroom. She looked refreshed. "What did I miss?" she asked & smiled "Well, us apparently" I replied as she smiled & laughed.

She sat down next to me & Michael & Luke started telling her about what we did over summer. We were all smiling & laughing. I glanced at Serenity. I can tell she's just faking a smile. There's just, so much pain in her eyes. After the Arcade we all went out to eat lunch. Except Ashton & Alexa sat down on a different table. Serenity kept glancing at them. & more & more pain filled her eyes. I looked back at Ashton. "I know you still have feelings for Serenity. I just know it. & I tend to find out, even if I have feelings for her as well" I said in my head. After a long day, we dropped Alexa back off to her house & went back to our apartment.

Serenity's POV:

When we got back to our apartment everyone was really tired. They all went straight to their rooms. Except Ashton. He was just sitting in the living room watching tv. I sat down on the other couch across from Ashton. I looked at him & got closer then sat down next to him. He just looked at me oddly then started focusing on the tv again. "H-Hey Ashton" I stuttered he looked at me. "Hey" he replied & looked back at the tv. "So.. what did I miss while I was gone?" I asked "I'm pretty sure the guys told you" he replied "Yeah.." I replied "So how long have you and-" he cut me off "What do you want from me?" he asked "Wh-What do you mean.?" I asked "Why are you talking to me?" he asked "Well, we're friends aren't we? There's nothing wrong with-" he cut me off again. "We're not friends. & if you're trying to figure out if I still have feelings for you, I don't. I don't need or want someone as useless as you" he said coldly & closed the tv & got up & walked up to his room leaving me sitting there on the couch full of tears.

I ran upstairs to my room with my eyes full of tears. I couldn't hold my tears in anymore. I've been wanting to cry since the day I came back. I dug through my cabinet and found a large blade. I sat down on my bed as I held it against my skin each time I thought of what Ashton had told me. "Useless.. Useless.. Useless.. Useless.. Useless.. Useless.. Useless.. Useless.. Useless.." I kept thinking that, & I kept cutting until I eventually passed out. The room got darker & I felt my eyes slowly shutting.

Calum's POV:

Everyone was up except Serenity. "I'm gonna go wake Ren up" I said "Okay" Mikey replied. I went up to her room & knocked in her door. "Serenity, wake up." I said but she didn't respond "Serenity, wake up" I said a little louder but she still didn't respond. I ran downstairs & told the guys. "What?!" Michael & Luke said in sync. Ashton was just standing there smiling & laughing. I looked back at him. "What did you do?" I asked but he just laughed. "What did you do?!" I yelled "Nothing really, just told her the truth. That's all" he replied & laughed. "What did you say?" I asked "Nothing much, just that I don't need or want someone as useless as her" he said casually.

"Why would you say something like that?!" I asked "Oh, okay. So you'd rather have me tell her a lie?" he asked "No, but you didn't have to tell her that" Luke replied "Yeah, & until we know she's safe, we're not talking to you" Mikey replied. We all went up to her room while Ashton was just sitting there in the living room not caring at all. We tried everything, but the door just wouldn't open. We went back to the living room. "You know, there's this key that could open every room in this apartment, right?" Ashton said spinning the keys around his finger as I just snatched it from him. He didn't do anything but laugh.

We all went back up & unlocked her room. She was laying down in bed. But, her blanket had blood stains. I moved the blanket & saw her left arm covered with blood & a blade next to her other arm. I moved the blade away from her. I kneeled in front of her bed inspecting her arm. "We need to get her to a hospital, quickly!" I said. I carried her as we all ran downstairs. Mikey grabbed Ashton to come with us so we could talk to him in the car & in the hospital. When we made it to the hospital we all waited for what the doctor would say about her. The doctor came out. "How is she?" I asked "She lost a lot of blood. But she's fine now. She's resting" the doctor replied "Thank you" Luke said "No problem" the doctor replied & laughed.

We told Ashton that she could've died. But he didn't seem to care. "Until you get your priorities straight, we're not talking to you" Luke said "Yeah" Me & Mikey agreed. We went inside to check on Serenity, leaving Ashton alone. Serenity was sound asleep. I kneeled down in front of her & looked at her sleeping for a few seconds then kissed her on her forehead. "Come on guys, let's let her rest" I said as we all walked out of the room.

Serenity's POV:

I heard three footsteps coming in. I felt like someone was looking at me. Then, out of nowhere I was kissed on the forehead. "Come on guys, let's let her rest" I heard a voice say that sounded like Calum. When they left I heard someone else come. I felt the person glance at me. "Oh Serenity, you made them stop talking to me." I heard a voice say & felt a glance "You really are troublesome" I heard the voice say again then walked out of the room. But, it wasn't just any voice. It was Ashton's.
