Aladdin awoke in a field.
"Where am I?" he asked himself, clutching his head. He felt a burgeoning headache coming on, or perhaps just confusion at his memory gaps. "The last thing I remember is that Alibaba, that nice slave lady, and I were leaving Amon's dungeon..." He snapped his fingers. "Alibaba! He must be around here somewhere!"
Aladdin stood up, looking around for a glimpse of golden or pink hair. All he could see or smell was the wild flowers that grew there, lightly blowing in the breeze. "Where are they?" he whispered to himself.
After a while, he'd just about given up, but then he sensed something. He wasn't sure what it was, but he was compelled to find it.
He followed the proverbial 'path' of the sensation.
When he looked around this time, he didn't just see flowers and grass--he saw a girl lying under a tree.
Unfortunately, it wasn't the slave lady, like he was hoping, but a girl with tremendously long, brown hair. Her breathing was even and calm, she was obviously sleeping. She had glasses which had slipped a way down her nose, magnifying her freckles.
Aladdin looked at her legs.
One pant leg was pulled up, revealing a wound. But he noticed something. Something that made his eyes widen.
Rukh was fluttering all around the wound, healing it.
He started walking towards the girl before he was tackled to the ground.
When he opened his eyes, they were met by the unpleasant sight of sharp, white teeth. Growling threateningly in his face was a big, yellow-colored dog.
The dog barked at him, casting slimy saliva down onto his face.
He gasped. "Help!" he yelled.
Just before he was sure the dog was going to kill him, a voice rang out.
"Xander!" The girl had woken up. "He's just a kid, he won't do any harm."
The dog turned back, doe-eyes at full capacity, and whined at her.
The girl narrowed her blue eyes at Xander. "I said, he won't do any harm." She looked at Aladdin, still pinned to the ground. She suggestively lifted up the long-sword that rested at her side. "Will you, kid?"
Aladdin shook his head vigorously. "No, ma'am! I swear!"
The girl set her sword gently back to the grassy ground and then gestured for the dog to join her in her spot under the tree.
Aladdin quickly sat up, gasping for fresh air and checking his flute to make sure it wasn't damaged.
The girl snapped her fingers, knocking him out of his trance. "You okay, kid?"
He smiled at her. "I'm fine now."
Xander was peacefully resting his head in his owner's lap, grinning ear-to-ear as she pet him. "You're pretty chipper for someone who almost got killed," the girl said.
"Am I?"
The girl gave him a thumbs-up and a grin. "I respect that!" She extended her hand. "Name's Rashil."
Aladdin's happily took it. "Well, hi there, Miss Rashil!"
She laughed and pushed up her glasses. "Kid, come on, I'm sixteen! Lose the 'miss', you're making me feel like an old lady!"
Aladdin laughed, too. "Fine then, just Rashil."
"And what shall I call you?" Rashil asked.
"Aladdin."
