The monstrous creature had a cloth covering its face. It slowly peeled it away, revealing a menacing scowl, beady eyes, and wrinkly skin.
Alibaba strengthened his stance. "So, this must be the boss chimp." He looked around.
"And now there's even more to fight," Rashil said, noticing the fact that they were surrounded by smaller monkey-creature minions.
"Oh, you think?" Mikha said. "Didn't need the addition, Ra."
Multiple of the smaller monkeys jumped at the sisters. Mikha pushed them back with a gust of wind, but another wave jumped closer to Rashil's side. She sliced a few of them in half while Xander kicked a few in the face.
"Oh, man!" Rashil gasped. "They just keep coming!"
Xander kicked a few more in the face, his bare foot now bloody. It was hard to tell whether it was his or the dungeons creatures'. Perhaps both. "Good observation, mistress! Your intelligence never ceases to impress me!"
Rashil punched one of the beasts that tried to launch itself at Xander's face. "Don't patronize me."
Mikha's eyebrows knitted together in worry. "Alibaba," she instructed, somehow keeping her voice level. "You busy yourself with the boss before you run out of magoi. We'll cover you."
The blonde nodded. "Right!" He ran toward the boss.
Xander's ears pricked. "We may not need to worry about defeating them before Mister Alibaba's magoi depletes!"
"Huh?" both the brunette sisters said in unison.
As they said that, BAM! A blur of bright pink shot straight into the monkey boss's face. He tipped backward with a groan. The Fanalis launched herself backward, using the monster's face like a trampoline.
Rashil and Mikha gave a happy gasp. "Morgiana!" they both said.
Alibaba stood frozen.
Morgiana landed in front of him. "Going off on your own? That was pretty selfish of you." She gave him a glare.
"Morgiana!" Alibaba said. "Why did you come out here?"
She set her face into a neutral expression. "I was the one who warned Mikha and Rashil of your stupidity."
Rashil punched one of the creatures on her left and stabbed the one on her right. "Oh, yeah. I almost forgot you were coming!"
Mikha pushed a large amount of them back with a gust of air. "You came just in time!"
Alibaba gripped the hilt of his sword so hard his knuckles turned white. "Seriously? That's your reason?"
Morgiana nodded. "That, and I thought I might be able to help, if you needed it."
"I knew you'd say that!" Alibaba snapped. "That's why I left without telling you! But it's up to me now... This is something I have to do on my own!"
Morgiana's face remained stony. "I understand that, but I'm sure-"
"Guys, seriously!" Rashil yelled as a few monkey's tugged on her hair. "Can the lover's quarrel wait 'til later?" She kicked them away from her.
Xander gritted his teeth. "Useless primates.... Thinking they can touch my mistress so easily!"
Mikha blasted flames at a small group of the monsters. "Everyone, seriously, focus! 'Cause if you don't, we're all going to die!"
A thunderous crash resounded through the courtyard. Everyone looked up. The boss monkey stood back up.
