"about what?" she asked.
"anything. like, why are you learning piano?"
"i don't know. i just really like it. it sounds so beautiful, i would love if i knew how to control it."
"what songs can you play?"
"i learned trees and am learning tear in my heart."
"i love to play tear in my heart."
"i know, it's so pretty." she smiled at him. tyler felt his heart melt in his chest.
"do you have an actual piano? or just a keyboard?" he asked.
"just a keyboard. it has fifty keys, i believe."
"only fifty?" he asked.
we may need to do something about that.
y/n nodded her head.
"it's all i could afford, but it still works just fine."
tyler and y/n talked for hours. topics ranging from piano to coffee and everything in between.

a knock was heard at the door. josh entered the room.
"tyler, time to go." he said.
"five more minuuuutttteeesss?" tyler pleaded like a smol child. y/n giggled at the immaturity. josh could clearly tell how happy the two were. he rolled his eyes before giving in.
"fine, fine...five more minutes. it's already ten o clock, though."
"wait, really?" tyler asked.
"mhm." josh exited the room, allowing the two to talk for a little while longer.
"i'll be back tomorrow,"
"why?" y/n asked.
"because, i want to talk to you."
the girl smiled lightly.
"promise?" she asked.
"promise." tyler replied reassuringly.
josh opened the door a bit.
"times up."
the two turned to look at him.
"fiiiiinnnnneeeee," tyler said as he stood up.
"be careful while we're gone, okay?"
"okay, mom."
josh smiled brightly at her as they left.
