the hotel they were staying at was pretty big, at least to y/n. the room had two beds at either corner. a television rested on a dresser in the middle. there was a bathroom with light brown marble floors and a clear glass shower. next to the bathroom, a closet was placed.
"i'll sleep on the floor so you can have my bed."
"i'm fine. i can sleep on the floor."
"y/n. you just got home from the hospital." josh said seriously.
"we can share a bed." tyler mumbled quietly.
"i'm down." she said and jumped on the bed. laying at one side of it.
"okay." tyler said and went to grab his phone. josh lied on his bed before tyler returned to sit next to y/n. he'd look up and admire her every once in a while.

"i'm bored." josh stood up.
"where are you going?" y/n asked.
"i don't know. somewhere to not be bored."
josh said as he left, on his way out the door he looked at her. then at tyler. she rolled her eyes at him as he laughed silently.

y/n laid back down. tyler was sitting up against the back of the bed.
"you know, we could go to that fair."
"hm?"
"we could go to that fair that you like."
"okay, lemme get changed first." she said, climbing out of bed. tyler opened a drawer next to the bed and through something at her. y/n picked up the dark red fabric.
"where did you get this?" she asked, holding the ruby red dress.
"i may or may not have taken it from your house."
"ugh. but i look stupid in it."
"no you don't."
"you've never even seen me wear it."
"well then, i guess you'll have to put it on for me to see."
y/n looked at tyler for a second. he smiled in defeat.
"fine. but don't be disappointed." she said as she walked into the bathroom.

tyler waited patiently for y/n to return. she walked into the room in the dress.
"sorry to disappoint you." the girl said.
light ruffles waved over her legs as she walked. the top of the fabric was fitted and stuck to her skin. sleeves came down to her wrists, showing nothing but black stitches. her pale legs showed only a few scars. she wore black combat boots to match it all.

"you look beautiful." tyler said. y/n rolled her eyes, but thanked him anyway. she grabbed a few rubber bands from the bag and pulled them onto her wrists.
"stop. take them off. you're going to hurt your stitches." tyler said as she turned around. he held her arm and glared at the bands.
"i know...i just don't want people to stare."
"nobody's going to stare. i'll murder them if they do, okay?"
"okay." y/n said as she removed the bracelets.
"now can we go?"
"yes." tyler replied happily.

"put on some music." tyler said as they drove. y/n turned on the radio and switched through the stations. stressed out was playing.
"its furry face!" y/n said.
"excuse me?" tyler laughed.
"furry face."
"it's blurry face."
"f u r r y f a c e." she argued.
"okay, and what's the difference between the two?"
"he can actually grow facial hair."
tyler put his hand over his heart and pretended to be hurt.
"ow." he said.
y/n hummed lightly as she stared out the window.
"you know the words."
"hm?"
"sing."
she looked at him for a second.
"i can't."
"you don't have to have beautiful voice to sing." he replied. y/n smiled at him.
"fine," she paused for moment before complying.
"wish we could turn back time, to the good old days. when our mama sang us to sleep but now we're stressed out. wish we could turn back time, to the good old days. when our mama sang us to sleep but now we're stressed out." he glanced over at her as she sang. her voice wasn't near perfect, but it was to tyler. he loved the way she sang his song. even when hitting the wrong notes or singing the wrong words she was still just as gorgeous.
"that's all i'm gonna do. i told you, i can't sing,"
he paused for a moment.
"why do you do that?" he asked
"do what?"
"insult yourself so much."
"i don't know...just a habit."
"why?"
"i-i guess...i've never had anyone to tell me otherwise."
