This is another one based on something that happened to me, and I'm, as always, curious to see which sideman, pack, or other pairing you think would meet this way. :D
I'm walking through a courtyard between classes and I lean down to pick up 3 dandelions from the side of the path, because the courtyard is full of them and they're beautiful. A boy is walking a couple yards behind me with his friends, and, as boys tend to do, he yells "are you going to eat that?"
His friends all laugh, and I turn around and grin at the boy who spoke. Being a crazy person who always tries to be unpredictable, I immediately bite one of the flowers off its stem, and say "well I was going to, but I'm nothing if not polite. Would you like one?" And hold the two flowers out to him.
