Another AU

What about a soulmate AU where once you get married (or take some other sort of unbreakable vow in its place) you automatically swap pain receptors with the person you love. So if I burn my hand and I'm married to someone, they feel it instead of me. The pain switches, the injury doesn't, however, so if I get cut badly, I would probably bleed out before I noticed. Another thing, if my soulmate dies, I don't die, but I feel the pain of death, and for most people that turns them into a numb, almost robotic creature, like a prolonged grief.

And also let's just say this doesn't apply to sex. Just felt like that needed to be mentioned cuz it would be really weird XD

Here's some examples, as always, couples are interchangeable.

1. Vik hums to himself while scrubbing the kitchen counter. Simon is due to be home any minute and dinner is almost ready. All that's left is tidying up the place. Suddenly, as Vik goes to put his sponge back in the sink, he feels an agonising, stabbing pain in his stomach, almost as though he'd just been stabbe-

SIMON!

2. Lachlan knew the moment he made that promise to Preston that he'd have to stop cutting. The truth was it would only make Preston feel the pain. (Even before they made the vow, it had been Preston's pain, in a different way, but Lachlan didn't know that) one day, after the two fight over something, Lachlan completely forgets about the bond and self-harms. As he realises it's not hurting him, he cuts more, trying to get back the feeling. Can Preston find him before he bleeds out?

3. Whoever has Harry for a soulmate is just automatically screwed, what with the crazy stuff he gets up to.

4. A domestic Oneshot where Josh and Tobi are soulmates and roommates and Josh stubs his toe on a table leg XD

5. Rob is rich, and when he marries Preston, he decides to keep his husband as safe as possible at all times. He drives him too and from work in his gilded limo and hires guards to protect his house. All Preston wants, though, is to explore the world.

6. JJ gets so angry while drunk that he throws a bottle at Vik, and immediately passes out from the pain. When he wakes up, Vik has propped him up on the sofa with painkillers and his favourite breakfast, cold now, and is passed out on the floor in a pool of his own blood.

7. Someone makes fun of Josh and Simon while they are out holding hands in the park. Simon attacks him, and when he gets punched in the face, he turns to Josh, who, with fiery eyes, wipes nonexistent blood off of his lip, and grins. Simon might be the one throwing punches, but that doesn't mean Josh isn't fighting just as hard.

8. Vik has Chronic Pain, which is an untreatable disorder that causes constant and consistant pain for weeks or years. He doesn't want anyone to have to share his pain, so he tries to prevent himself from getting too close to people. Tobi is persistant though, and says that he will overcome any pain if it means being with Vik.
