----2 Weeks later (Tuesday at school)----

Camila's Pov:

"Yay! You get to play today!" Ally says excitedly while we head to our English class. "I know! I'm so excited! Sitting on the bench and running with you guys for sucking during a game the next day at practice sucks. I'd rather be punished if I actually did something wrong." "Well now you can! Cause coach always finds a reason to push us to our limit during practice." "I don't think her coaching tactics are in line. I mean, why run your team to death the day before a game? We are always sore the next day and some of our teammates even pull muscles." I say while we walk down the lit hallway with other students scattered around some talking on the side while others rush to their destination. "I know what you mean. However, no one should ever tell her that cause we all know what would happen if someone did..." "Yeah..." I say then shudder at the thought, 'Suicides and lots of them.' That day was hell because it was a very hot September day. There were at least three players that threw up and one passed out because of dehydration. We got that punishment just because a parent complained about her coaching strategies. Ever since then not a single word has been spoken to her about her coaching and I am thankful for that. I was almost one of the pukers but managed to hold it back and fight off the dizziness. I am a sprinter. My stamina is not the greatest. Stop and go is fine for a little but after doing it over and over again, especially if you have to get under a certain time each set, count me out.

We reach English and take our normal seats. “I like your outfit Camz! It’s really cute” I turn and face a smiling Lauren, “Thanks! I like it too.” Today I’m wearing a black dress with a white collar and big black bow. My hair is slightly curled and flowing freely around me. “I like yours too!” Lauren’s wearing a red sweatshirt that says “wanted” on it along with a black skirt. Her hair is straightened and she’s also wearing a cross necklace. “Thanks babe” (Both outfits from the same photo shoot). After that our teacher starts her lesson. She puts on a PowerPoint about the different Gods and Goddesses. She asks different questions to see what we know already and I answer almost every time with the occasional other. The next slide is one about Calypso. “Now what do you know about her?” My teacher asks. My hand instantly shoots up and I look around and see I am the only one with my hand up. I know Lauren knows about her but I know she’d rather not answer, “Yes Camila?” “Calypso is a nymph and the daughter of Atlas. She was banished and forced to live on an island because she helped her dad in the Titan war instead of the Gods. She’s a temptress and can shape to whatever she wants to look like.” Ms. William nods her head. Calypso is my favorite non Goddess in mythology, her story is sweetly depressing in my opinion. I see her differently than others do. The Gods punish her by sending men to her island that she can’t help but fall in love with, like a tragic romance even though the men never love her. Once she falls in love they leave her and she is left heart-broken. She walks her island alone most of the time and her only visitor is Hermes the messenger God. I base my knowledge mostly on the Percy Jackson series because I like her story the most in it. I feel like I can connect with her especially now that I have feelings towards someone that will never like me back. The next slide is about Artemis and I instantly look to my right and smile seeing Lauren excitedly shoving her hand in the air. I know a lot about Artemis but I don’t raise my hand because Artemis is one of her favorite Goddesses. She’s also one of my favorites, her and Athena. Lauren likes her and Aphrodite. “Lauren?” Ms. William calls on her a little surprised at her enthusiasm. “Artemis is the Goddess of the hunt, wild animals, wilderness, childbirth, virginity and protector of young girls. Apollo is her twin brother and he is said to pull the sun behind his chariot. Artemis is said to also be the Goddess of the moon and night the opposite of Apollo. She roams the wilderness and carries a bow and arrows.” Ms. William nods her head impressed on the amount of information Lauren gives her. Lauren isn’t one to put in input during class discussions unless a teacher makes her. Today is a change in her normal behavior in class which is usually pretending to pay attention, talking to someone, sleeping or constantly texting. Teachers like her but dislike her attitude and behavior in class. She doesn’t really care about her grades so she doesn’t try. I know that if she did she would easily be a straight A student. She has a brilliant mind but doesn’t show it as often as I would like her to. It’s only when we are alone together talking that I see that side of her come out. Before our fight over the summer we would have many of these conversations at my lake cabin.
