Across the canvas dance colorful strokes of paint
So many shades, some bold, and some faint
Raw emotion put out in physical form
Colors molded together, both cold and warm
But take a look closer, get as close as you can
Standing on the edge of the rocky cliff is a tall man
Looking down at the choppy waters, so deep in thought
A penny for his thoughts; I would have bought
His heavenly face in much distress
His hair a wind-ruffled mess
Eyes of a man that has gone through so much
My very heart he did touch
His jawline so sharp it could cut steel
I've never felt my heart beat so loudly; it scares me, this deep, unknown feel
His beautiful soul hooks me in
The world around me has begun to violently spin
He's the Prince Charming I always dreamt about
The one for me, without a doubt
But then I notice it
Feeling like with a car I was hit
His foot is mere inches away from the steep drop
The bottom was too far from the top
Don't do it, I whispered in vain
Why is he emitting this unspoken pain?
I reach out my fingers to hold him, to help him
For him, I'm trying so hard, so desperately straining
But then realization hits me hard; he is after all, just a painting
