She couldn't take it no longer, no more
Packed her bags and ran out the door
When he woke up, she was gone
No evidence throughout the house nor on the lawn
Beside his cup of coffee was a note left on the counter
I'm sure someday we'll again encounter
A simple sentence hit home so hard
She had lay down her final card
He smelled the paper, tinged with her sweet perfume
Suddenly feeling so lonely in the empty room
He choked out a dry, bitter sob
Staring sadly at the metal doorknob
"I'll find you again someday," he whispered, his mind now set
His words determined though like a threat
