She couldn't take it no longer, no more

Packed her bags and ran out the door

When he woke up, she was gone

No evidence throughout the house nor on the lawn

Beside his cup of coffee was a note left on the counter

I'm sure someday we'll again encounter

A simple sentence hit home so hard

She had lay down her final card

He smelled the paper, tinged with her sweet perfume

Suddenly feeling so lonely in the empty room

He choked out a dry, bitter sob

Staring sadly at the metal doorknob

"I'll find you again someday," he whispered, his mind now set

His words determined though like a threat
