mourner

Her heavy coffin was heaved into the dirt

Dried blood still on the gravedigger's shirt

A few tears leaked from the sole mourner's eyes

It was wrong to not mourn when someone dies

The mourner couldn't understand how she could leave her so alone

She was a person no advanced technology could clone

She changed her life the moment their paths crossed

Without her, she would be forever lost

But now she's gone, never to be brought back

And now the mourner is standing in front of a tombstone, dressed all in black
