*Ryan's POV*

I was lucky enough to escape the library unnoticed. I had gotten up and left the very moment Cole's eyes left mine. He's such a show off. Trying to act as if he cares about my well-being just to make himself look better. Am I that much of a joke?

I understand that I'm different and all, but seriously? Why me? Why must people play pranks like this on me? I've done nothing wrong to harm anyone in anyway. Why do people pick on the innocent? Is it because we are weak? Of course it is. If anything, the bullies are the weak ones for making fun of someone who is "weak" or "different."

I walked the hallways, making my way towards an exit, ignoring all the disgusted looks from everyone. People look down on me as if I'm a maggot in there own food. I don't blame them of course. I look at myself the same way. I'm just a toy to people. I can't even count on my small fingers how many times I have been thrown away like a piece of trash.

Just as I was about to exit the school, I immediately come to a stop when I hear someone call my name. I look around, not noticing anything out of the ordinary besides everyone having a smug look on there pathetic faces. I shrug it off and open the door, walking out.

I have lost count on how many times I have left during school hours, not that I had actually been keeping score though. I eventually make it to the side walk leading towards my god forsaken home. It doesn't technically feel like a home so therefore, it isn't my home.

A home is supposed to make you feel protected and warm, which is the complete opposite of what mine feels like. It doesn't necessarily feel unsafe, just not welcoming. I keep my distance from my family and they go on there merrily way. I don't even recall the last time I spoke to them, or anyone in general.

"Ryan!! Wait up!!"

I turn around and notice Cole approaching me. Oh great. Just don't listen to him, he's acting nice just to make himself have a better reputation.

"Hey, where are you going?" He asked, once he approached me. I simply shrug my shoulders. It isn't any of your fucking business, is it? "Are you alright?" He asked. What does he mean? Of course I'm alright. "You look upset." He continued. I started to walk a little faster hoping to reach my home soon to get away from him.

Why is he even talking to me right now? We aren't even on school grounds so he has no one to show off to. So why?

"I just wanted to make sure you were alright. You left quite fast earlier and I was enjoying our conversation." I immediately froze. Enjoyed it? Technically it wasn't even a conversation. I give Cole a confused expression before looking back at my surroundings in front of me again.

"I noticed that you seem confused on why I care. But let me explain why, if that's okay?" Please don't, just leave me alone. I don't care about your stupid reputation and I absolutely fucking hate listening to liars. Cole cleared his throat, about to explain before he got interrupted. "Cole? What are you doing dude?" We both turn around to find David standing there looking confused.

Saved by your friend.

"Are you ditching football practice?" He asked. David then looked at me with disgust. I'm used to that. "No I'm not ditching David." Cole said sounding irritated. I would be irritated as well. Everyone is always sticking there nose in his business, I've noticed that. Not that I care though. "Then what are doing? And why are you hanging out with the fag?"
