*Ryan's POV*

"OH MY GOD LOOK AT THESE SHOES!!" Elaine yelled in the crowded little store. It was her birthday and so Cole and I wanted to get her something nice. So, Cole handed her a bunch of cash and said "Go crazy." I for one, was regretting the decision of going into such a small store.

I could have waited patiently outside but I didn't want to wait alone. Also, it's a shoe store and girls take forever when it comes to shoes so I defiantly didn't want to stand outside in the pouring rain until I rot.

I didn't want to tell Elaine to hurry the fuck up because she was having so much fun, I didn't want to to ruin it. Cole seemed to notice my stressing and pulled me into a tight embrace. "Just a little while, okay? Can you handle that?" He asked me worriedly. I nodded my head and buried my face into his broad chest. A feeling I have come to get used to.

"COLE! WHICH PAIR SHOULD I GET?!" Elaine asked filled with excitement. I don't think Cole really cared about which one, I think his main focus was to just get me out of the crowded store. "The black heels are nice." Cole said trying to sound interested. Elaine squealed and basically jolted to the cashier. FINALLY.

But suddenly, everything seemed to slow down. My vision became blurry and voices were muffled. My legs began to shake and I almost fell down but Cole caught me beforehand. I couldn't even stand. My ears started to ring and I could hear my heart pounding rapidly.

"Hey, hey." I heard Cole's muffled words. "It's okay baby." He soothed me while pulling me against himself again, rubbing my back. "It's okay Ryan." I wanted to believe that. I really did. But everyone in here is most likely judging me now. No, I know they are judging me. They always judge me. Everyone.

Suddenly, my vision darkened and I fainted.

I was sitting under the big tree in front of the school, eating my lunch by myself. "Get him!" I heard someone yell behind me. It was the voice of Charlie, one of my bullies. One of Nick's friends...Without looking back, I quickly stood up forgetting about my lunch, and bolted away from the school and ran as fast as I could. I didn't know how many people were chasing me, but it sounded like more than five. I was screwed. As I was running, I looked behind me and saw Nick, Charlie, David, and a few others I didn't know the names of were chasing me. And fast.

I ran into the woods a little ways away from the school, hoping to loose them. I crawled near some bushes and curled up into a ball, being as silent as I could. Which was hard while breathing so heavily from all the running. "Where did he go?" I heard David ask.

Please don't find me.

Please don't find me.

Please don't find me.

I prayed and prayed that they wouldn't find me. I can't take the hits anymore. My torso is covered in way to many bruises. And they wouldn't go away. New ones were added everyday so I gave up trying to treat them if I was only going to get more. "I think he went this way! Let's go!" Charlie yelled from a distance.

I laid there for what seemed like forever before I thought it was safe enough to come out from the hiding spot. I looked around with a tear stained face and frightened eyes. I may seemed like the kid who didn't show any emotions, but deep down I was fucking petrified.

Everyday was hell. I would come to school with sweat around my collar and chipped fingernails. Scared out of my mind. Absolutely scared. No one is here for me. I have no friends, nobody. Why am I even here? Aren't you supposed to have a purpose in life?

I get pushed, shoved, kicked, hit, and no one does anything to stop all the pain. Nobody. I would cry out for help, but I can't remember the last time I have spoken. Even if I did cry for help, it's not like anyone would hear me.

I ran back to school not wanting to miss my next class. To my luck, lunch wasn't over. I grabbed my bag that I had left by the tree before entering the front doors and sighed in relief when I noticed Charlie, David and Nick weren't there waiting for me to arrive. I headed straight to my locker to get out my History textbook when I saw words written onto my locker in black sharpie or something.

"FAG"

"WORTHLESS"

"WHORE"

"CUTTER"

My eyes built of tears, but I refused them access to fall. I quickly did my locker combination and grabbed my textbook before slamming the locker door shut. "Oh, is the poor fag gonna cry." I heard Charlie taunt me. I turned around and before I could run away he fiercely grabbed my shirt collar and pinned me up against my locker roughly. Charlie was insulting me as always but I zoned out of listening to him when the most beautiful man walked past us, not noticing anything.

Cole Matthews.

I have had a crush on him for quite some time, but I knew that it was pathetic of me to think that me and Cole could ever be a thing. Besides, he's popular. He doesn't even know that I exist and I think it's best it stays that way. I can't stand the thought of Cole bullying me as well.

That would tear me apart, more than I already am. Charlie let me go, bringing me out of my thoughts immediately as I fell to the ground harshly. I just stayed there, not moving a muscle. Looking emotionless. Like always. Like the broken mute boy I am.

"Ryan? Ryan wake up." I heard someone call me, but it was muffled. "He looks really pale." I heard someone else say. "I know, Nick go get a glass of water for him please." Then, I recognized the voice. It belonged to Cole. My Cole. I slowly opened my eyes, which felt heavy. I was laying on Cole's living room couch. "Ryan? Can you hear me?" I heard Cole whisper in my ear before feeling him kiss on forehead.

"C-Cole?" I mumbled. I could barely even hear myself. "Yes baby it's me don't worry, you're safe." He reassured me as he caressed my cheek. "What h-happened?" I whispered loud enough for Cole to hear me. He's the only person I wanted to hear me. "You fainted baby, but it's okay."

"Ryan, I'm so sorry I took forever picking out shoes!" Elaine cried as she hugged my weak body tightly. "Careful Elaine." Cole warned her. "Sorry." She apologized as she let go of me. Nick suddenly arrived with a glass of water that was halfway filled. He handed it to Cole before looking at me worriedly. "Are you okay Ryan?" He asked me.

I nodded as Cole held up the glass of water to my dry lips. I gratefully swallowed the water quickly. "Slow down babe." Cole chuckled. "S-Sorry." Cole kissed my forehead before taking the now empty glass away from me and setting it on to the coffee table.

"I p-panicked a-and everything w-" I sighed in frustration as I was to weak to form any words. "It's okay baby, I know." Cole said as he continued to caress my cheek. My eyes started to feel heavier as I began to close them, but I didn't want to look away from the beauty in front of me. "I'm j-just s-so t-tired.." I mumbled half asleep. "Get some sleep baby, I won't leave your side." Cole whispered in my ear before gently kissing my cheek.

At that moment I realized that my purpose in life was to be with Cole Matthews.

(A/N: Sorry again for another late ish update. I have been sick.) 😭😢
