Chapter Sixteen 🌈

*Cole's POV*

Everything happened so unexpectedly. I thought that Nick was just going to bash on Ryan even more but no, I was wrong. When he started to apologize I was shocked. Of course at first I figured it to be an act of some sort but I was very, very wrong.

When Nick began to sit with me, Ryan and Elaine at lunch I was shocked as well. The first couple lunches together were awkward but I expected as much. I could clearly see that Ryan was always tense around Nick but I expected that as well.

Even though Nick was smiling around us all the time, I could still see the pained expression masked by his happy one. I'm not blind, though sometimes I wish I was. It hurts me to see Nick like this. He's been my friend for so long and seeing him hide his feelings from me pains me.

I mean yeah, he can be an asshole at times which makes me really want to slam his head in the closet door I came out of but he can't completely control his anger on his own.

"Hey fuck face, pay attention!" I heard Elaine spat interrupting me from my thoughts. She's stares at me with that face your sister or brother gives you when you ask a dumb question. "Do you want popcorn or no?" She asks me.

I look down at Ryan who is holding my hand tightly. He nods his head yes. "Uh, yeah." I said. Elaine turns around and continues speaking with the female cashier, most likely flirting. Ryan tugs at my sleeve causing me to look back down at his cute nature.

"Are you okay?" He whispers, fearing that someone other than me would hear him. "Yeah I'm okay baby, just thinking."

Once we got the popcorn Elaine led us to the theater room we were assigned to. Number 22. We walked in and to our luck, there were only a few people in here so far. We decided to sit in the very back row for Ryan's sake.

I definitely didn't want him freaking out during the movie. Ryan sat in the middle as I sat on his left and Elaine on his right. That way, a random stranger couldn't sit next to my little prince.

"Cole?" Ryan whispered into my ear. "Yes baby?" I asked making Ryan blush by calling him baby. "Can I h-hold your hand?"

"You know you don't have to ask sweetheart." I softly reminded him. "I'm s-sorry."Ryan apologized. "It's okay baby." I said while grabbing a hold of Ryan's small hand, intertwining it with my big hand.

"Y'all need to stop being so cute." Elaine said. "Awww, is someone jealous?" I teased her. "Don't test me you cocksucker." She spat at me. Ryan giggled because he knew I didn't have a comeback.

The lights dimmed as the opening credits to the movie appeared on the screen. I had troubles focusing on the movie as my thoughts kept drifting off to the events that's happened over the these past couple weeks.

I still don't trust Nick and I highly doubt that I ever will. Every time he's around Ryan I just want to kick his teeth in. But, I'm putting up with him for Ryan. Believe me, I do want to help Nick. I really do. It's just the fact that he's put my baby boy through so much that's got me so aggravated.

I've tried so hard to look past that. I guess I just need a little more time. I know that Elaine wants to kick his teeth in just as much as I do. But for Ryan's sake, we don't. If that's not true friendship then I don't know what is.

Before I knew it, the credits were going. "C-Cole? Are you okay?" I heard Ryan ask me timidly. "Yes baby I'm okay." I said to him reassuringly." Y-You seem out of it today..." He mumbled, thinking I didn't hear him. "No, I'm not baby. I'm fine." My voice more firm than I intended it to be.

Ryan slowly stood up from his seat and followed Elaine out of the theater room, without looking back at me. After a couple seconds I walked out as well. Elaine and Ryan were no where in sight.

"Cole! Over here!" I heard Elaine yell over by the restrooms. What struck my attention was when I noticed Ryan wasn't near her. I walked over with a panicked expression. "Where's Ryan?"

"Don't worry, he's in the restroom." She said. "Do you know why he looked a little upset?" I've got a pretty good reason. "No, I don't." I lied. If Elaine so much as knew that I had snapped at Ryan I wouldn't live to see tomorrow morning.

Plus, I really do not want her high heel up my ass. Suddenly, Ryan walks out with his head hung low. "You ready baby?" I asked him softly hoping the kindness in my voice would cheer him up.

Ryan doesn't say anything as he starts walking out the front entrance. "What the fuck did you do?" Elaine spat at me. "Nothing I just..nothing." Elaine rolled her eyes knowing that I was lying.

"I don't know what the hell you said to him but whatever it was you need to fix it." She demanded. "I didn't say anything, it was my tone of voice with him"

"Well fucking fix it or my foot will go on a road trip in your ass." She said sounding rather pissed off. She's right, I need to apologize.

I take a deep breath while walking outside. Ryan was standing there with his hands in his front hoodie pocket. I slowly walked up to him and wrapped my arms around his petite body. "Hey baby, look I'm sorry about my tone of voice earlier. I didn't mean it baby, it's just...this while Nick ordeal is stressing me out." I explained carefully.

"It's not t-that.." Ryan mumbled. "Oh? The what's the matter baby?" Suddenly, Ryan started sobbing. "Baby, baby hey, look at me. What's wrong?" I asked as I placed my fingers underneath his chin, lifting his head up. "You're b-bored of m-me." He cried. "What? What makes you think that baby?"

"Y-You have b-been d-distant lately a-a-and I f-figured that you w-w-were getting b-bored with m-m-me.." Ryan sobbed heavily. "Baby no. I will never ever get bored of you! You're my sweet little prince baby and I love you so much, okay?"

"P-P-Promise..?" Ryan sniffles. I softly wipe his tears away with my thumb before caressing his cheek. "I promise Ryan." I said before planting a kiss onto his little nose. "P-Pinky swear..?" He asked as he held out his pinky finger for me.

Can he get anymore adorable?

I smiled while wrapping my big pinky finger around his smaller one. "I pinky swear baby."
