*Ryan's POV*
I had overheard what my mother said to Cole. She had told him about my past and why I'm the freak that I am. I didn't want Cole to look at me like that. I simply didn't want him to know that I'm a freak who has a stutter.
But, thanks to my mother now he knows. I just hope he doesn't treat me any differently. Surely he will see past it right?
I opened my eyes to find Cole laying next to me fast asleep. So handsome. No! Don't think that way Ryan! He doesn't like you that way. But then why has he been so generous to me?
Was it pity?
Or maybe he actually cared about me. Maybe I'm just over thinking all of this. Cole could care about me, I've taken that into consideration now. I guess I'm just used to everyone taking advantage of me. I just hope I'm right about Cole. He must care.
Suddenly, Cole stirred in his sleep. I hadn't noticed that I had my hand resting on Cole's warm cheek until he laid his hand on top of mine softly. Instantly, I froze. He's touching me.
My god!
Cole chuckled deeply causing shivers to run down my spine. "Good morning." He said. My gaze was stuck onto his mesmerizing eyes. No matter how hard I tried to pull away from his gaze, I couldn't.
"Did you sleep good?" He asked me quietly. I nodded and continued looking into his eyes. I bravely caressed Cole's cheek with my thumb. What the hell am I doing? Cole slowly pulled me against his chest and wrapped his arms around me tightly. "Are you alright?" He asked me sweetly.
I nodded and buried my face into his firm chest. "Do you want me to grab your notebook so you can tell me what's bothering you?" Damn! He knew I lied. He always knows. I nodded and watched as Cole slightly pushed me back before standing up, making his way towards my desk.
Once Cole grabbed my notebook from on top of the desk he set it in front of me on the bed. All I could do was just stare at it, as if the notebook would speak for me. Though I most definitely knew it wouldn't. Cole then handed me the black pen before sitting down on the bed next to me.
"You know, instead of lying to me and nodding your head yes that you are in fact okay, just tell me the truth. Do you remember what I said? It's okay to show your emotions to me. I'm not going to judge you Ryan." Cole said softly.
He's right. He's absolutely right.
"Now, tell me the truth. Are you alright?" Cole asked calmly. I've gotten used to that particular question. Am I alright? Am I really okay? I can never really tell anymore. I always feel scared, mainly of myself.
"Ryan?" Cole asked me, looking quite concerned. Drifting from my thoughts, I looked down at my worn out notebook before flipping to an empty page. Slowly, I wrote down;
'No'.
"You're not alright?" He asked me. I shook my head no. "What's wrong?" I look back down at the page before writing;
