I throw my phone across the room and let the tears pour from my eyes.

/FLASHBACK/

"Natalie, can I talk to you please?"

Oh this can't be good.

Mum never uses my full name unless she's not happy with me.

"Yeah sure, what's wrong?" I ask,taking a seat opposite her.

"I'd like to have a word with you about your... Joel."

"You can say boyfriend mum, that's what he is to me." I tell her.

"Natalie, I've seen the people he hangs around with. The boys he's with constantly get their girlfriends pregnant and I do not want you being a teenage mother."

"First of all, my name is Nat. Second of all, they're my friends mum, you can't just say things about them when you don't know them. They got pregnant because that's what they wanted, they wanted to be parents and they chose to not use protection, they weren't forced. And lastly, Joel respects me. If I don't want to do something with him, he won't force me into it. Even if we were sleeping together which we're not, we'd use protection."

"Nat, I understand that you want to defend him but I don't like the way they act. So I'm giving you a choice. You break it off with him or you leave, because I do not approve of that young man and you are not staying here if you're dating him." She says.

I had to make my decision.

Joel, or my family?

Thinking back, I should've just left.

I should've gone to Joel's and explained the situation, maybe he would've let me live with him.

But I didn't.

Joel's pov:

"You okay Joel?" Adam asks me.

"No. She's broken up with me." I tell him.

"Why?"

"I don't know. She wouldn't tell me. She said she doesn't love me but I don't believe her. I just want to know why she doesn't want to be with me." I say.

Jenni rushes in.

"Joel! I overheard Nat telling someone why she can't be with you." She says.

I sit up and listen.

She explains it all.

I stand up after her explanation.

"You going to speak to Nat?" Adam asks.

"No. I will later though." I say and wait until the bell goes, then leave as quickly as possible.
