Nat's pov:

But unfortunately, there was one person who walked into my life again recently that didn't think Joel was the one for me.

"I'm sorry Joel, I can't. Good luck with the band, don't forget me." I say.

"Nat, no, please..."

"I love you." I say.

"NAT, PLEASE DON'T GO! I LOVE YOU!" He shouts down the phone but I hang up.

And then I throw my phone into the sea.

Joel's pov:

I just collapse onto the floor.

Ryan runs over to me.

"Mate, what's happened?" he asks.

I can't even form an answer.

"I...she...no..." my words get choked by sobs.

Then the tears flow like a river.

And that river just floods.

"Mate...sorry." Ryan says.

He doesn't know what to say.

No one else does.

No one can bring Nat back.

She was just too good to be true.

/2 weeks later/

"Joel, please eat something." Georgia pleads.

"No." I saw and grab another beer bottle, downing it quickly.

"Please." She says.

"No."

"Right, that's it." She knocks the beer bottle out of my hand.

I don't even have the energy to be mad.

I've been like this since Nat left.

"Joel, you can't do this to yourself. People break up, people move on. You need to respect that." She says.

She's right.

But I don't want to acknowledge that Nat is gone and she's not coming back.

I cry again.

I never cry unless it's for a good reason.

Georgia hugs me and I hug her back.

"I'm sorry. I'll try to clean my act up." I say to Georgia.

"I know it's hard Joel. Didn't Ryan go through the same thing with me? And he brought it on himself. I found Ryan a year later. Don't lose hope that you might find Nat again." She says.

1 year is a long time to wait.

But if it's for Nat...
