//Request: Can you do an Archie Andrews (Riverdale) where you're a singer and Archie helps you find your sound?//
"I don't know why I try." You groaned and shut your laptop, pulling your Beats to hang around your neck.
You were currently attempting to edit your debut track. You had a YouTube channel where you posted covers and remixes of current songs, and it had just hit a million subscribers. You promised your fans that you'd have your own song to release when you hit the mil, and you had nothing.
"Y/N," Your mom knocked on your door. She poked her head in and you nodded towards her, telling her to continue. "Archie's here."
"Send him up." You sighed. "I'm not making any progress on my own anyways."
She nodded and disappeared. Soon Archie walked in with a smile on his face.
"Hey." He said, sitting on the bed next to you. "What are you working on?"
"Well Archibald, I hit my million a few days ago and I promised an original track in my next video." You said, tilting your head to look at him. "I'm trying to edit the audio, but nothing good is coming."
"What's the song about?" He asked, pulling the computer from your lap and opening it. He unplugged your headphones and played the track out loud.
"I was thinking either love or empowerment." You shrugged as the speakers played the audio, the gentle piano melody playing softly.
"Love could be a good start." He nodded and paused the track. "What if your first track was collaborative?" He suggested.
"With who?" You laughed. "Josie told me, and I quote, 'We didn't work this hard to go slumming it with the newbies'. Ronnie won't do it cause she's too busy with her dad's trial."
"You're forgetting about me." He laughed.
"Oh, right!" You exclaimed. "Riverdale's version of Ed Sheeran!"
"Ha ha. Very funny. Do you want the help or not?" He asked.
"Sure." You replied calmly.
Mentally, you were ecstatic. You once had a dream that you and Archie would be collaborating on a song, a love song, and it would develop into something more. Maybe this was that chance.
"Did you come up with a title?" He started, shifting the laptop and getting up to grab your guitar.
"No. I was thinking something like All or Nothing or maybe Down For It. I don't know though. They're kinda dumb." You laughed, grabbing your lyric book from your nightstand. You tapped it against your hand, contemplating handing it to Archie.
The thing about your lyric book was that no one had ever seen more than the covers. You never opened it for eyes other than your own. You wrote your deepest thoughts in it as lyrics, your strongest feelings. And as of late, a lot of those feelings were towards Archie.
He confused you. He sent messages that conflicted each other. Maybe it was intentional, maybe it wasn't. You didn't know and you weren't going to find out.
You pulled your knees up as a wall between you and Archie, cracking open your book and scanning the pages for a good start.
"What about this?" You said, catching his attention. " 'You tell me one thing, but act another. What is truth? Should I look for another?' "
He nodded slightly, hitting play on the audio and singing your lyrics.
"You tell me one thing, but act another. What is the truth? Should I look for another?" He sang, matching the highs and lows of your melody. "I've been searching all night, I've been digging deep. I've been thinking and thinking, and I can't even sleep." He added and you smile widely.
"I've been driving myself crazy, hoping and praying. I can't see myself with anyone else but it seems like I'm a game you love playing." You continued softly.
"Over and over again, you keep giving me the same old pain." He sang, catching your eyes in a deep stare. "Over and over again, it seems like I'm just a friend. Tell me, baby. Will this heartbreak ever end?"
"Tell me if you're down for it, baby." You continued, adding a bit more into your voice to match the beat of the chorus. "Tell me right now cause I can't do this anymore. Tell me if you're down for it, cause I need to know. Tell me if you're down for it, cause I cant, I cant, I can't be here waiting no more."
"I need to know if you're down for it it, oh baby." He added softly. "Cause I need you. Come and tell me, or I'm not you're baby no more."
He hit the button to stop the recording and shut the laptop before looking back at you. You lowered your knees and crossed them in from of you.
"Thanks." You said quietly, quiet enough to barely be heard. You cleared your throat and spoke louder. "The lyrics you added worked perfectly."
"Yeah, sure." He nodded. "If you don't mind me asking Y/N... Who was that song about?"
"No one." You shook your head and moved from the bed, tucking your lyric book into a new hiding spot. "Just some stuff I wrote. It doesn't mean anything."
"It sounded like it did." He commented.
"Well it didn't so drop it." You said in a strict voice.
"I'm not gonna drop it, Y/N." He said, getting off the bed. You turned to face him and put your hands on your hips. He crossed his arms and stared at you. "Whoever you wrote about, he really hurt you."
"He didn't." You retorted. "He never did anything to me. He's oblivious to how I feel."
"Maybe you should tell him then." He answered in a slightly softer tone.
"Why do you care?" You scoffed. Archie Andrews had unintentionally screwed with your emotions more than you cared to admit and you weren't going to let him do it this time.
"Cause I care about you, Y/N." He said softly and crossed the room to stand right in front of you, only a few inches between you two.
"Oh sure you do." You said and rolled your eyes, taking a step back. He reached out and grabbed your arm, not letting you get too far. "Not the way I care about you, Arch."
"You wrote about me, didn't you?" He asked, realizing the truth.
"Took you long enough." You commented, staring at the ground.
He placed a finger under your chin to tilt your had up to face him. He had a soft smile on his face and you felt your cheeks turning red.
"Let me show you how much I care." He said smoothly. "Let me take you on a date."
"Like a real date?" You choked out.
He nodded and laughed. "I'll pick you up at seven." He placed a kiss on your forehead and left the room.
"What the hell just happened?" You whispered and dropped onto your bed.
