Maven Calore (Red Queen)

//request: have you read Red Queen? if so, can you do one where you're a super rare Silver called a Todos, meaning everything, so your power is that you can use any Silver's power after you've touched them, and like you show him and he's just like "oooooh my god marry me"? if you havent, its totally cool.//

//AN: youre in luck little homie. i have in fact read it and Maven is my fave even thought the betrayal//

"Lucas!" i called into the hall as i slid my ring onto my finger. i wore a black backless lace dress, gold heels, red lipstick, and my blue ring. the colors of my house,House Candidos, were gold, black, and blue. Maven's were red, black, and silver so everything worked out pretty well. i should probably mention that i really like Prince Maven of House Calore, son of King Tiberius Calore VI and Queen Elara from House Merandus and i have a strong feeling he's going to propose soon. He was a burner obviously but me, i was something different. my name is Y/N Candidos, and i was what my mother called a todos. it came from a dead language called Spanish from an old country called Spain. the word meant all or every. 

i should explain my ability. i could use the ability of any Silver, after i touched them that is. my abilities were stored in my ring, hence why I never went without it. i met Maven after Queenstrial. Cal "chose" Evangeline Samos, a magnetron. my family and i were there, and Maven spotted me from across the room. i still remember the feeling of his gaze on me and the heat that rose to my cheeks. 

they knew I was from House Candidos, but no one really understood my House because they tended to stick to one ability. i however, loved using them all.

Lucas strode in and gave me a once over. "someone got dressed up."

"well yeah." i smiled. "Maven has something important to ask me so..."

lucas walked me the ballroom, my arm laced through his as usual. he turned me over to Maven's hands and disappeared into the crowd. maven spun me around and pulled me close. his warm hand rested on the small of my back, the other holding my hand. my stomach got butterflies and my cheeks blushed a pale white. he leaned in, pressing a kiss to my cheek "someone got very dressed up." he murmured into my ear.

"i did. i have something for you." i teased and smirked. he raised his eyebrows at me and i nodded to the terrace, motioning for him to follow me.

we crept through the crowd, finally making it outside. the air made me shiver but Maven moved closer to warm me. "thanks." i smiled.

"of course. so, what did you want to show me?"

i took a deep breath and turned to face him."okay, so as you know House Candidos doesnt seem to have a particular ability. but we do. we just use it differently." he scrunched his eyebrows but i continued. "my ring, the one i never go anywhere without, helps me do what i can do. it stores them all. without it, i can only use one at a time."

"what are you talking about?" he asked, solidly confused.

"Candidos are todos. we can do anything any Silver can do." his mouth gaped and so i showed him. i pulled up water from the fountain below, melding the metal poles holding the House Calore flags, shaking the earth below the fountain. i released the elements, putting them back to their position. i called a fire to my fingertips, adjusted the lights to hide myself, swirled the fire within a handheld tornado, shot purple lightning into the middle. i came back into view and released the flame and the storm. i looked into Maven's eyes, they were shining proudly. "i um- i can do a few other abilities, strongarm and oblivion and skin and blood healer and animos and shiver and silk, oh and stoneskin, along with a few i dont want to use on you." i said, worried about bringing them up. "people think i used it on them if i dont tell them and if i do, they dont trust me."

"like what?"

"like a whisper and a song, a silence and eyes."

"i trust you, my love. i know you wouldnt do anything to me. i know you." he smiled softly at me and i returned the gesture. "i wanted to- to ask you something. something very important."

"of course, my dear. what is it?" i asked softly. he took my hands in and i sighed inwardly. the slightest touch from him sent a warmth across my skin that couldnt compare to anything.

something tumbled from his jacket pocket and he knelt down to retrieve it. he kept hold of my right hand, as if afraid i would run. he opened the small box, exposing a wooden flame pendant, beaded on wither side with three small black bead, hanging on a small black chain. it sat neatly in the box and he smiled shyly at me. "Y/N, i wanted to ask if you'd be my princess."

"Maven Calore, of course!" i smiled and he stood fully. i took his face in my hands and pulled his lips to mine. he smiled into the kiss and rested his hands on my hips. i puled away eventually and he hung the necklace around my neck. it sat neatly above my sternum and he smiled softly. "i love you, Maven." i blurted out. "oh geez." i nagged myself quietly.

"i love you too Y/N."
