"Y/N." my brother, Scott, said from the doorway. we were at Lydias lake house to help Liam with his first full moon. he was currently unconscious and chained to one of the pillars in the boathouse.

"yeah Scott?" i asked and turned to face him. i was sitting in front of Liam, waiting for him to wake up.

"you should probably go back into the house. he'll be waking up soon and-"

"i can handle it Scott." i cut him off. "i was bitten the same night you were." i remind him.

he comes over and kneels next to me. "i know Y/N. but Liam has anger issues so with the full moon, it's gonna be harder for him to stay in control."

"i know. but i don't think it's fair to leave him. he needs all the help he can get."

Liam stirs and wakes up. he struggles in the chains. "where am i? what am i doing here?"

"it's okay Liam. you're in the boat house. we put you here to help you." i say softly, putting a hand on his shoulder.

his glowing eyes meet mine and so i change them. he stares at me in disbelief. "you're- you're a werewolf too?" he asks, shocked.

"yeah." I say with a slight smile. "i was changed the same night Scott was."

he slumps against the pillar and sighs. "how do you guys do it? how do you stay in control?" he asks.

"we found our anchors." Scott answers. "mine was my first love, Allison." he replies sadly.

"was?" Liam asks.

"she died a few months ago."

Liam looks at the ground, and fiddles with his fingers. "I'm sorry... but how do i know who or what my anchor is?"

"here. close your eyes." i say, sitting up on my knees.

"why?" he asks.

"just shut up and do it." i laugh slightly.

he smiles a little and shuts his eyes. "now what?"

"what do you see?"

"nothing."

"no you dummy. let your mind think. let your mind wander. what do your thoughts keep coming to?"

"I'm gonna go check on Malia." Scott mouths to me and waves bye. I wave back and turn back to Liam.

"oh okay. now i get it." he says and opens his eyes. they're a bright gold for a few seconds and then they're back to normal.

i smile at him. "it worked. what's your anchor?"

"what's yours?" he counters.

"my brother. he's been there for me through everything and he's such a good person. that's what makes him a true alpha. that's why he's my anchor. now you."

he looks down and then back at me shyly. "you."

"me?!" i ask shocked but a little glad. you've had a crush on Liam for a little while, and even though you were a sophomore you were the age of a freshman.

"yeah." he replies shyly. "you've always been nice to me and you've been really helpful and you're really pretty and- crap did i just say that?"

I smile slightly and laugh. "yeah you did. but it's okay. cause you're pretty cute yourself."

he smiles widely at me. "so wanna go on a date? you know, after i get let out of these chains."

"definitely."

Scott comes back and sighs. "Malia is a little iffy. how's it going in here?"

"perfect." i smile. "just perfect."
