A Railgun in Fairy Tail Book 3: Bridge Between Worlds

"Its so big!!!"

Fairy Tail had finally arrived in the massive city of Crocus. Mikoto had to admit, this city actually rivaled Academy City in largness and grandeur.....though the buildings were nowhere near as large and tall as the ones in Academy City. The only super large building Mikoto could see was the beautifull main palace that stood in the center of the capital. The golden colored castle seemed to beckon Mikoto on a sight seeing journey......

"I have to get in there..." said Mikoto. "That place needs to be seriously photographed."

"We can go look later." said Erza who was walking down the crowded street with Mikoto. "We have to find the hotel lodgings that were set up for us. That way their won't be much of problem when we have to get back by midnight."

"Hyyaaaaahhhh" said Elli yawning as she sat atop Mikoto's head. "I can't believe that journey took over two days....."

"Once we find the hotel we'll be able to rest a bit before the games start at midnight, I honestly don't remember where the hotel was last year so we'll have to stick together." said Gray looking at a map. "And speaking of finding our lodgings, where are Natsu and Happy?"

Mikoto looked around, but the only ones of their supposed 5 person team that were currently here were her, Gray, and Erza, and Wendy who was on the team as a reserve member until Laxus arrived. The other Fairy Tail members had gone to find a separate hotel since the games required only the competing guild members stay in the required lodgings.

Mikoto scanned the large crowds of people until she saw the familiar pink haired mage and blue cat at a one of the stands that were out in celebration of the games.

"Hey! Isn't that them over there?"

"What are they doing?" said Erza. "We need to find the hotel."

"AGAIN AGAIN!!" shouted Natsu who seemed to be enthralled by something a strange man was doing at the stand.

"Aye!!" said Happy. "That's amazing!!"

"What are you guys going on about now?" asked Mikoto as she and the rest of the group approached the stand.

At the stand was a thin man in a dark cloak. He wore a faceless mask with two simple eyeholes.

"Are you sure you wan't me to perform that spectacular wonder again!?" said the man in a jubiant voice.

"You bet!!" said Natsu. "Hey guys! Watch what this guy can do...."

The man's masked head suddenly detached from his neck and began twirling around in mid air.

Natsu and Happy began clapping. Mikoto however, looked suspicious.

Hold on a sec.... Mikoto thought. Where have I seen that whole head trick before?

"Now watch my head closely...." said the strange man as the head began to spin faster and faster.

"Eh?" said Natsu. "But usually your head goes back on your neck by now....."

"Oh..." said the man. "It's just a new trick I came up with.........see?"

Suddenly the head exploded in a massive smoke cloud of confetti and streamers. When the smoke cleared, Night Reveler was standing where the cloaked man was before. "HELLO!!! How's it going all you chime changas?!"

Immediately the entire group leapt back and readied themselves. Erza drew her sword and pointed at Night Reveler. "YOU!! What are you doing here!?"

"That is an interesting question!!!" said Night Reveler. "Well if you want a philisophical response, I have quite the 9 hour speech!! But if you want the straight up boring answer......then here you go!!!"
