A Railgun in Fairy Tail Book 3: Bridge Between Worlds

Mikoto Misaka vs Nicole Mavros...Battle To The Death.

The 4th day of the Grand Magic Games was a well anticipated one.......children and their families lined the streets, buying different sorts of souveniers, most of them being either stuffed versions of Mato the mascot, or collectable items based off the most popular contestants (Kuroko bought a Mikoto figurine with an oddly drooling look on her face.)

By the time Mikoto reached the stadium, she swore it must have been overcrowded. In fact, she noticed that there seemed to be an unusual amount of attention focused on her......and she knew why. The match between her and Nicole Mavros was definitely a given this time. Mikoto could practically feel the tension building in her.

"One thing I don't understand though..." said Mikoto. "Why has there only been one battle event each day.....I heard that the last games had 4 battle events total so that every guild would participate."

"It was a popularity issue." said Gray. "Everyone was tired of having to wait so long to get to their favorite fight, so they changed the rules.....not surprising, considering the rules change almost every year. Though last year's set up was a little more fair in my opinion......"

The points currently stood thus.

Fairy Tail and Cross Arcana were tied with 70 points in 1st place

Sabertooth was sitting with 45 points in 2nd place

Mermaid Heel and Lamia Scale were tied for 40 points in 3rd place

In 4th place was Blue Pegasus with 30 points

In 5th was Fright Face with 20 points.

FInally in last place was Quatro Cerberus in last place with 15 points. The only points they had earned having been during the games having been during the Music Master Relay.

Mikoto looked over at the Sabertooth end of the stands. They had already gotten a new reserve member to take Noiress Blackout's place. However she couldn't quite see who it was. And she didn't bother trying to find out.....because at that moment, somebody surprising walked into Team Fairy Tail's area. It was Madam Darkness, master of Fright Face.

Mikoto and the rest of team Fairy Tail whirled around to look at this strange sight, it wasn't often that somebody from another guild came into an opposing guild's stands.

"Oh my..." said Madam Darkness in a silky voice. "I'm sorry, it appears I might be gate crashing a little pregame celebration...."

"What do you want?" said Erza cautiously. "You're not supposed to be here....."

"Oh, I just came to wish Ms. Misaka luck before things got messy....." said Madam Darkness her eyes glowing menacingly despite her silky voice. "After all....I may not get the chance after Nicole.......mmhmm..........you know how hungry she is for death at the moment..."

"Don't get a swelled head!!" said Gray. "We've all seen her take bigger enemies then your crew......so get off your high horse and take a few steps back."

"Yeah!!" said Natsu. "Fairy Tail's going to whoop you so hard, you're going to look just like your guild name!!"

Madam Darkness merely smiled. "Very well....keep thinking that you have a chance.....it'll make the battle more enjoyable......speaking of which, I don't think we'll have to wait long for the fight....."

"What do you mean by that..?" said Erza narrowing her eyes. "What did you do?!"

"I believe he will clear things up...." said Madam Darkness pointing up at the Announcer's podium.

"Hehem!!" The Announcer cleared his throat, as if on cue. "I'm sorry to say that the surprise event for today is facing some sort of technical difficulties!! So until the issues can be fixed...we will do the battle event first!!"
