Reina: Saw this prompt in EpicRosalina's random book Ranting in the Trashcan and wrote this. It tweaks some stuff of the prompt and FE in general.

Fire Emblem: Blood Before Bonds

Prologue: You're My Child Now

5 years ago....

Chrom was with his four year old daughter Lucina during a camping trip. It was just the two of them with nothing to worry about.

Lucina sat in front of the fire near Chrom, listening to him tell a story about her ancestor Marth. She sat there in awe, amazed at her ancestor's adventures. Once her father stopped talking, she smiled. "I wanna be like Marth when I grow up!"

Chrom laughed and gently petted her head. "That's a great aspiration to have. You just have to eat your vegetables and train, okay."

Lucina frowned at the thought of vegetables. She hated them immensely, but if she wanted to be a hero....

"Okay," she muttered.

Chrom smiled and hugged her. "That's my girl."

A rustling in the trees startled Lucina, who ran to the side. Chrom pulled out Falchion and whipped around, aiming it at the newcomer. "Who's there?" Chrom demanded.

A figure stepped out, wearing a purple and black outfit. The man had red eyes and blonde hair, staring with an evil glare.

"Who are you?" Chrom demanded.

The man pulled out his sword and attacked Chrom. Chrom raised his sword to block it, and parried back. The man lost balance, and kept attacking Chrom.

Chrom blocked the blade once more and turned to Lucina. "Lucina! Run to-"

In the moment that Chrom was distracted, the man pulled back and stabbed Chrom's stomach. Chrom's mouth was opened, completely in shock and filled with blood.

"Daddy!" Lucina shrieked.

Chrom fell forward. "Lu-Luc-Luc... In...a..." He fell face down, and Lucina ran to him. "Daddy! Daddy, wake up."

Chrom didn't move. Tears filled Lucina's eyes, and suddenly the strange man loomed before her, reaching out for her.

"You're my child now," he smiled.

Lucina attempted to bolt, but the man grabbed her. She screamed, but he wasn't fazed. He opened up a portal and began walking towards it.

Lucina glanced back at Chrom as the tears flowed down her face. "Daddy!"

Chrom didn't move.

That was the last thing Lucina saw as the man entered the portal and closed it, thus signifying the end of her life in Ylisse.

"Don't worry little one," he whispered. "I shall be your father now."

Lucina began to cry.

As Chrom laid there dying, a hooded figure in black ran towards his body. Approaching him, she motioned for her companion to come closer. The companion approached Chrom quickly and began to heal his wounds.

"Will he be alright?" The first woman asks with a hint of worry in her tone.

The younger nods. "Yep!"

Soon, Chrom's wounds were healed, allowing the man to close his eyes and rest. The older woman picked him up and turned around, walking away with her companion.

"Open the portal," the older woman commanded.

The younger one did as she was told. The two stepped through, and were soon in an an ancient castle. It hadn't been used in years, so it was perfect for the two women. No one would suspect a thing.

"Elise, you may rest. Tomorrow you will have to let the others know about our guest."

Elise nodded and ran out, leaving Chrom in the arms of the older woman. She walked forward towards one of the rooms and entered it, laying Chrom down on the bed. Pulling the covers over him, she sat down in the nearby chair and removed her hood.

"Sleep, Prince Chrom," Camilla muttered. "Soon, you and I are going on a quest. We're going to save your daughter.... And stop Prince Xander of Nohr."

Reina: I actually started crying when Lucina got kidnapped. I actually wanted to have Robin come in and kill Xander for doing this.....

Anyway, I didn't actually give Chrom a wife. I don't know a) who to ship him with and b) how she would react to Chrom disappearing. I mean I could have it be Olivia and she's with a toddler Inigo.... But I don't know. I say that because one concept was to have Chrom go into a coma... But that would be even more heartbreaking, as ten years pass and Lucina is unable to see her family for so long.

So instead, Chrom rests for a few days, then chases after Xander.

I don't know who else is with Camilla and Elise. One thought was to have the Hoshidans. Then it was Corrin and Leo with the retainers. And then it was Askr. So for now they are nameless.

This is more of an alternate Awakening without the bad timeline, but I don't know what gender Robin is. And Fates is different as well. Corrin's gender is also unknown.

As for Camilla, I changed her personality, as well as part of her looks. In this, while she is still caring, but she is conflicted on how to deal with Xander - does she kill him or capture him kind of thing. So instead of her being flirty, she's more battle-focused and desperate to end this conflict, as well as being a bit fractured because her mother was over-bearing and abusive. As for her looks, her body type is similar to Hinoka's, and her outfit is basically a black tunic, black pants, black boots, and a black hood. (Yes, I based her off of Breath of the Wild).

Anyway, I got a question to ask regarding this story and some others, which will be in the next chapter of this book.

The prompt for this showed three pictures: A wounded Chrom, scared Lucina, and then photoshopped Xnader on Garon's body saying, "You're my child now."
