And it is really violent. Almost AoT levels because in the first episode you see someone get eaten alive. And sadly, not the last.

That's Komon, the main character. But he isn't Ultraman.

That's Ultraman. Himeya.
*whispers* And I ship them because they get along so well.
No, they really do get along.
So Komon has to fight these beasts alongside other people, including Nagi. (Who is so badass. More so than Komon, but he's more of the naive character while Nagi shoots first and asks questions later. I want to say she might be Komon's love interest? He does have a gorlfrined though....)

While fighting one of the beasts, Ultraman Nexus appears. And everyone on the Night Raiders except Komon try to kill the 50+ foot Ultraman. Or want to, at least. Komon, who had been saved by Himeya, defends Ultraman.
But Nagi becomes a better character later on.

Yep.
He's like Lance in the Beta Traz episode. Both of them doubting themselves because they feel to be the weakest of their teams and they don't make any worthwhile contributions.
Anyway, this show is from 2005 but they started airing it in America this year.
And it's pretty good, despite some of the cheesy effects.
