We need to Learn
All wars have come to an end
Oh really? Not so, my friend
From the Battle of Kadesh, and well before
This planet has had nothing but war
Many recorded in the years BC
Hundreds more in the years AD
Increasing in number as centuries progress
That's right friend, more, not less
Of course, individually each does cease
And for a little time we do have peace
Still, we've learned nothing in over 2000 years
The ravage, the waste, humanities tears
Why do we rally to this archaic taunt
This primeval urge, you've got, I want
Is there no such thing as harmony
Or the satisfaction just to be
Earth's future needs to change behaviour
And no one man will be our saviour
We've all been given the tools to reason
To respect our lives through every season
The rights of ALL we must defend
Then maybe all those wars will end
