Humans loving humans

can lift the veil of war,

light the shadows looming

with a new enduring torch

Seeing simple kindness

rise to break the winter tide

and voices raised in hope

draw us past an angry pride

Lay us down arms of hate

and pledge a new path to keep

Face the dark with resolve

and carve out the way of peace
