The Year 3000
"all wars have come to an end"
started the old woman
"every sky turned a bright blue,
every tree learnt to be green too,
it was a scene unfolding
in various shades of orange
the shades got darker tenfold
as the children began to munch
(on crunchy gems of joy
like they knew not it existed)
I was a tiny little bird called Lead
fluttering above these tiny heads
humming the tune of felicity
dancing in the wind
the air I breathed
so tender like leaves of mint
my bones light
and my eyes bright,
every nook and corner
filled with smiling faces
and smiling tears
the sweetness alight in all the places
the heart and the mind
in that moment
touching hands
and being sincerely kind
I prayed for my babies in the nest,
"may this be the start of permanence
may this be the present for my loves!"
all wars had come to an end,
and here is peace for you,at last,"
she smiled at her grandchildren.
