Chapter 23 – Jack

Tyler is such a cool dude! We grabbed a drink and talked for over an hour. In the back of my mind there was always Alex. I was hoping he would talk things out with Josh and he did. He finally released all this anger and frustration that was choking him. I was so proud of him, really proudest I've ever been. Me and Tyler went to get some hot chocolate, he told me he's from Ohio and how he met Josh after his transfer. He also told me he's into music and playing and I really started liking the guy. I could see why Josh fell for him, he's such a cute lil bean. After that drink we returned to their dorm room and I immediately noticed that there's been crying. Alex's eyes were still a little red, so were Josh's but they were sitting there, laughing. I felt a huge relief after Alex smiled at me and we all decided to grab a bite together.

''Tacos or pizza?'' Tyler asked. He was cheering for tacos, I knew it and he was wearing a shirt that had little tacos printed all over.

''Ah, we've been ordering pizza everday, let's do tacos?'' Alex said, glancing at me for an answer.

''Yeah, sure, sounds good.'' I answered.

We went to this mexican place on campus and the food was delicious! That place definitely made my top restaurants list. Then we just grabbed a few milkshakes and headed to the park to chill and talk.

''So, you guys are alright now?'' Tyler asked Alex and Josh.

''I think so, yeah.'' Alex glanced at Josh, giving him a smile. Josh nodded.

''Yeah, we're cool now, just a little misunderstanding, is all...'' He chuckled and tapped Alex's shoulder. Alex laughed and snatched Josh's snapback from his head.

''This is mine now.'' He said and put it on. I was thinking about how absolutely in love I am with this human being that's sitting in front of me, laughing... and just by looking at him I could see exactly why I fell for him. He was so real, not an inch of him was fake, he never lied to me and his eyes were sparkling as his mouth delivered the most beautiful smile. And he's all mine.

''So, guys... since we're now besties, how bout a party this Friday?'' Tyler asked. ''I got this invite from some frat boys, he said they were looking for pledges.'' He gave us all a sour smile.

''Whoa, a fraternity... shit, I've never really thought about that.'' Josh said, scratching his head.

''Yeah, me niether.'' Alex said, fixing the snapback on his head.

''I'm down.'' I replied. ''I think it would be good for us.'' Alex looked at me and smiled.

''We get to live in a frat house with some cool dudes, party, study as hell and get excellent recommendations. I think we should at least try, what do you say?'' I said.

''Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, we have nothing to lose.'' Tyler agreed with me. I think we're gonna be great friends. We agreed on quite a lot of stuff and I missed that. Especially with Rian being away, I need to find some new friends in the dorm.

''Well why the hell not, since you put it so nicely.'' Josh chuckled. ''What do you say Alex?''

I'm sure he was surprised because I was never that guy but I thought we could try it, it couldn't hurt any of us.

''Alright, party on Friday it is.'' Alex said and smiled.

---

''I'm ready.'' Alex said as he closed the closet and turned towards me. He was ready for his first class. He was wearing black skinny jeans and a pastel brown button down with sleeves rolled up a bit. He slipped on his black allstars and twirled around.

''Do I look okay?'' He asked, still a bit insecure.

''Okay? Babe, you look amazing!'' I said and I wasn't lying. He always looked good, no matter what he was wearing. It's his confidence, even if he is a bit awkward and shy at times.

''When do your classes start?'' He asked, doing the finishing touches on his hair.

''In two hours, don't worry about me, princess. I'll get there on time.'' I winked at him.

''Okay.'' He said, picking up his backpack. ''I'm off now. See you later.'' He said and leaned in for a little kiss.

''Give'em hell babe!'' I shouted and waved at him. He looked at me one last time before he went out the door and gave me a little smile.

I quickly went for breakfast with Vic and his brother and then it was my time to shine and go to my very first class. I wasn't nervous anymore, seeing Alex get so hyped and dressed up got me in the mood. It all went great and people were pretty nice, I guess college really is very different from high school. I was thinking about that party we were planning to go to on Friday. I've never really seen myself as a fraternity kind of guy, but I also never expected to end up with Alex. I was sure I'd be with Stella forever, get married, have kids, that kind of thing. So why not give it a chance, I don't see any harm in that. We're just gonna have to wait and see what the guys are like. If they're assholes, I'm out. Alex has had too much shit already and god knows what people are capable of. I've had my fair share of popularity and I saw what people were prepared to do for it. Some literally sacrificed everything.

---

I heard a knock on the door. Alex was in the bathroom, getting ready and I was choosing what to wear. I guess living with him does leave other marks, besides light purple ones on my neck.

''It's open.'' I yelled out. A few seconds later the door opened and in came Josh and Tyler.

''Hey.'' They both greeted me.

''Hey.'' I said, pulling my head out of the closet, turning towards them. ''Whoa, you guys look great!'' I was surprised. They were very matchy matchy but it looked insanely good. Tyler was wearing red tubesocks with two white stripes, they were almost knee high. He was wearing black basketball shorts with no print and a red hoodie. Even his red vans matched everything. Meanwhile Josh was wearing a white sleveless shirt, red skinny jeans and had a black zip up hoodie tied around his waist. He had black converse sneaks and a black snapback, with a few strands of his red hair sticking out in the front.

''Thanks, we didn't plan to match.'' Tyler chuckled and put his hand around Josh's waist, pulling him closer. Josh only giggled as Tyler's lips kissed his cheek.

''Where's Alex?'' He then asked.

''Oh, he's in the bathroom.'' And just when I said that, he walked into the room.

''Oh shit, you guys look awesome.'' He said when he noticed their outfits. I must say, they are a couple of very fashionable kids. Daring colours, but so different from the rest, they really rocked the look.

''Thanks.'' Josh replied.

''So, you ready?'' Alex looked at me from head to toe. I shook my head.

''In a sec.'' I promised. They sat down at the table, opening those little beer cans, while I finally got dressed. I picked black skinny jeans and a plain white t-shirt. I put a dark purple zip up hoodie over and slipped on my black chucks.

''Ready!'' I shouted, joining them.

''Nice hoodie man.'' Tyler said.

''You really like colourful shit, don't you.'' I teased him.

''Oh yeah, the brighter, the better.'' He chuckled.

Alex was laughing and I couldn't help but stare at him. He looked amazing. He was wearing blue jeans and a black loose t-shirt, I was breathless. The only thing I was thinking about was how I'm gonna remove all those nice clothes he's got on, even though they look so good on him.

''Come on, let's get the party started!'' I said, taking Alex by the hand.

And so we went.
