Jewel Dragons {Wings of Fire Fan Fiction}

Chapter 18

Amethysts POV

I Yawned as the sun steadily climbed over the hill. It's rays shining in my eyes. I slowly crawl off the place that was my bed and dropped onto the floor. I curled up on the floor as if it was a more comfortable place. Of course other dragons also have a problem of noticing things. I closed my eyes when someone stepped on my back. My eyes flashed open and I threw myself on whoever stepped on me. Tumbling with them into the main cave. When we stopped rolling I realized it was Macaw.

I groan and push myself off of her and walk out of the cave. The sky was calling to me and I wanted so badly to fly into it and away. Back home in the rainforest. I ran back into the cave to where Clay, Tsunami, And Starflight were staying.

"Hey Clay I'm going for a flight ok?" I quickly say. He grabs and rolls over something that sounded a lot like "Yea go." I smiled to myself and ran back out to the cave where Macaw was now sitting with Sapphire. I bursted out from the cave into the clear blue sky. I looked backwards and Sapphire was getting prepared to take off and Lyre and Utopia were crawling out of the cave.

I did a few loops and then glided around. Careful not to go anywhere near the trees and staying close to the cave. The feeling was exhilarating it felt like forever since I had last flown around. My friends joined me and we proceeded to playing a game.

We decided on the game tag and I was it. I flew around chasing when someone joins me at my side. It was Glory. She was smiling and flipping her wings like crazy. I had never seen her fly up close but now that I see her like this, her wings were huge! I guess it was because she was a full grown dragon and my friends and I were still growing.

Pretty soon everyone was awake and flying around playing tag. I was happy. Then at that point in time I had completely forgotten about going home and the rainforest. It then occurred to me. What were we still doing out here? We had finished escaping the prison. Then the idea clicked in my head.

Ruby was never this mean. And I thought the arena was taken down! Plus that dragon that she has by her side I had definitely heard about before. She was unusual when she was born. Accidentally setting her sibling on fire the previous Queen kept her as her 'pet' and put her in the arena to fight for the Queen's entertainment. When the Queen was defeated, Ruby took over and took down the arena. Then the dragon was pretty nice. At that point I was pretty sure they were both under a spell or something. Eventually all the thoughts drifted away from my head and we continued playing.

I now call this day a day of rest, relaxation, fun, and eating. After playing we were all hungry so we ate and went our own separate ways for the rest of the day. Some went into the cave to read, some went into the forest to collect food, and some (mostly the Rainwings) slept outside. My wings were spread wide open and I lay there with a smile on my face. I wish all days in life was like this. Just a day of fun with no point. I guess that's what a lot of the Rainwings do. We like our sleep. It was enjoyable.
