Chapter 16

Amethyst's POV

My friends and I slowly walk through the cave following Sunny. I was easy to follow her because her scales glowed a bright color. I had now discovered that the cave was obviously bigger on the inside than it was on the outside. There were multiple tunnels leading to different places and a few ledges for a dragonet to sleep on. We continued waking through the cave for a while, I had managed to catch all the directions incase something happened and we needed to make a quick escape. Left, left, right, left, center, 4th tunnel on the right, down the hall, right. I repeated it over and over until all I could think about was directions. My eyes were closed as I was thinking about it and I ran into the back of Sunny. Only to have Sapphire run into me, Macaw run into Sapphire, and Utopia run into Macaw. I peek around Sunny and a gasp escapes my mouth. There was an entire cave filled with scrolls! My mouth hangs open as I walk around the cave.

"Sunny! How did you make this!?" I ask still surprised at the place.

"Oh I didn't make it," Sunny started. I whipped my head around to look at her "I found it." It was Utopia's turn to whip around and look at her.

"How did you find this! You don't just find a big ginormous cave with this many scrolls!! You would have to make this! Just HOW!?" Utopia yells at the top of her lungs. I sidestep just in time to half a small piece of rock from a stalagmite fall onto the spot where I was just standing. Probably from Utopia yelling, she was known for yelling so loud in the restraint that the treetops would shake.

Sunny sighs and I'm pretty sure I heard her laugh. "Oh Utopia, do you really think I made all those tunnels and extra caves? I found this cave like it was. A dragon must have lived here and created all these tunnels before we came here."

"W-wait what?" Sapphire speaks up looking up from the scroll she had unraveled. Sunny nodded her head and walked over to a stone shelf and ran her talons over the many dusty and dirty scrolls until she decided on one. Pulling it out from the shelf she sets it on a stone desk and started reading it.

"Here!" She yells, scaring Sapphire. I walk on over to where she was and started reading the scroll. I immediately recognized the type of scroll it was as soon as I read the top part. It was a journal of this dragons life. Sunny looked at me and saw my interest in it and she sat up and walked towards the shelves. I took hepr place and continued reading the entire scroll. At the very end was the dragons name. "Renown..." I mumble under my breath.

"What?" Macaw says wandering over to my spot.

"The dragon who lived here. His name was Renown."

"Why would he create this whole area only to leave it soon?" Lyre finally says speaking up. I shrug my shoulders.

"That's what I'm wondering to. Now that I think about it how did the dragon that create this, create this!?"

"He was an animus." Sunny says answering our questions.

"Oh..." Was all I could manage to get out. Now came the question I'm gonna wait to ask.

Why did he leave this cave?
