Lyra ran down the road and back into the forest from the prior night, quickly finding the wreckage that was her ship. She salvaged what she could, grabbing a small black box with one button on it. She carried the remains of the items she packed before walking a few feet away and pressing the button. A small green beam shot out of the front of the small box, making contact with the ship's ruined remains before a small sizzle noise became more and more prominent, the ship completely disappearing, leaving only the disrupted dirt as proof that something happened here.
She looked through the metal suitcase, thanking herself that it survived the crash as it contained everything she would need to settle here on this planet.
She placed the small black box into a case, setting it into the metal suitcase, making her way out of the forest with two backpacks and the metal briefcase. She ran across the road as, holding a small gps in her hand, making her way into the city.
She ran her fingers through her hair as a breath of air escaped her chest, examining the hustle and bustle on the streets and roads in front of her. She walked into the small government office, a quiet bell ringing as she opened the door. An older woman with soft eyes started back at her. "Do you have an appointment sweetie?" She asked you politely.
"N-no, but I need help. I lost everything in a fire." Lyra said convincingly. The woman got out of the office chair and patted her back to comfort her, "Its okay, come with me. We can get you taken care of." She said as she guided Lyra to the back office, a man behind a computer staring up at her concerned.
The older woman left the room, leaving Lyra alone with the older man. "What can I help you with today?" The tired man said in a monotone voice. Lyra looked up into his eyes, her changing from an icy shade of blue to a bright, glowing pink. "I need an identity. Social security card, passport, state ID, everything. Would you mind making those for me? My name is Lyra, Lyra Quasar." The man's facial expression changed to that of a blank stare as her pink irises glared into his. He got up in a robotic motion and started working on a file for her.
Lyra did have some perks to being an alien, like being able to control people with one blink of the eyes. She made a vow to only use it when necessary, loathing the idea of taking advantage of any living creature. The focus of her mission was to study the earth and see if the humans and other species could potentially become allies to the people of Fosnion.
The man handed her a stack of papers and told her where to sign, then handing her a social security card. "Lyra, we are just about finished. We just need to take a picture of you for the passport and ID and you're set." He said robotically, still under Lyra's control.
After the picture, the man was able to give her an ID card. "Lyra it was great helping you, come back in three to five days to get your passport." He man said. Lyra closed her eyes, making them settle as pale blue again. "Thank you, I'll see you soon." He said as she shook the now normal man's hand before going on her way.
She stepped back out into the busy streets, wandering around aimlessly until she stumbled on a side street, spotting a very large, clean, and beautiful tower of apartments that overlooked the city.
