It's been a week since the kiss, and Josh and Lyra havens spoken since. Lyra was afraid that she was a bad kissed and Josh didn't want to be around her anymore. Josh figured that Lyra didn't like him and that she thought the kiss was a mistake.
As Lyra sulked on her couch, pounding down red bulls and cheez its. She was upset about Josh not talking to her, she missed him more than she missed her gome planet and everyone on it. She hasn't bothered with showering, settling on putting her tangled nest of hair into a bun on the top of her head. The shirt she wore was covered with year stains from missing the boy with sunshine for hair.
The knock on her door brought her out of her daydream as a sad love story movie played in the background on her television as she played in the fetal position on her couch. She picked up on earthly sulking habits quickly, it felt good to just sit around and eat junk when you're sad. "I'm not getting up, come in!" Lyra yelled just loud enough for the person to hear.
The door opened loudly and slammed shut, filling the room with the loudest noise Lyra has heard in a week. Lyra remained unmoved, not even looking up to see who it was. The person crouched down in front of her into her line of sight, "Lyra everyone is worried about you. What happened?" The slender brunette boy looked into your eyes with concern.
"I miss Josh." She said, tears falling as she said his name. "Hey, it's okay. Shhh." He said as he sat next to her and held her head against his chest. "He's been trying to reach you for three days now but you phone is off." He said in a soothing tone. She picked up her phone, pressing the home button.
"Oh I'm so stupid I forgot to charge it. Is Josh okay? Does he hate me? Is he upset that I'm not a good kisser?" She asked rambling the question off quickly. She assumed that Tyler knew about the kiss since they were best friends.
"Lyra, relax. Josh is sad, but that's because he's been worried about you. He couldn't hate you if he wanted to, in fact it's quite the opposite. Don't tell him I told you this, but he told me that was the best kiss he's ever had." Lyra pulled away and smiled at Tyler, "Really?" Tyler nodded.
"Why don't you go shower and charge your phone and ask Josh to come over. He misses you so much." Lyra nodded and ran off with her phone, thanking Tyler. When Lyra finished her shower and got dressed Tyler was still sitting on her couch. "Oh, good. Tyler!" Lyra called out. Tyler turned and smiled, "Can you have Jenna come over? I need her help." Lyra said shyly, obviously embarassed.
"Of course." Tyler said, leaving shortly after to give them some girl time. Lyra told Jenna what's been going on between her and Josh and Jenna was more than happy to help. She explained a few things to Lyra and took her shopping for something special to wear for Josh.
When Lyra got home, Jenna left and told her to put the outfit Jenna picked out for her on and to call Josh over. Lyra examined herself in the mirror, not really understanding why wearing this was important, but she did look good. She ran her hands up and down the black lace fabric that barely covered her, before she dialed Jenna's number.
"Jenna, why would Josh like this? I'm barely wearing anything!" She asked, confused. "Because he won't be able to keep his hands off of you if he sees you in that! Or his lips." She said giggling, "Now go! Enjoy!" Jenna said, hanging up on the still slightly confused girl. Lyra shrugged, staring off as she thought about what Jenna said, she wouldn't mind Josh touching her. Every time his hands touched her anywhere her stomach went wild. She knew how she felt about Josh, and tonight she was determined to tell him.
