The lobby of the apartment complex was a large open space with high ceilings. Modern furniture scattered throughout as Lyra walked up to the desk. "Hello!" The woman behind the desk said happily, waving at Lyra.

"Hi." Lyra smiled shyly at the woman. "How can I help you?" The woman asked, Lyra stood up straight and smiled, holding what was left of her belongings. "I'd like to see an apartment, do you have any available?" The woman stepped out from behind the counter, "Of course, right this way." She followed the woman to the elevator, going up to one of the highest floors. The woman stepped off, Lyra following quickly behind. The woman pulled out a key and opened the door, a large open living room appearing behind the door.

The living room had a window that covered most of one whole wall, allowing for a gorgeous view of the city below. The woman stepped in before Lyra, as Lyra looked around, her jaw dropping for how beautiful the place was. "I'll take this please." She said in her light airy voice.

"The rent here is quite pricey for a view like this. And we need the first and last month up front." Lyra sighed, blinking her eyes a few times as they started to glow bright pink again. "Free, please." The woman's body went rigid as she started into Lyra's eyes. "We can do that. Come on, let's go get your papers signed. You can leave your belongings here." You smiled at the middle aged woman, "That's more like it." You smiled sweetly at her as you set your items on the dark stained flawless hardwood floors.

After Lyra finished signing the apartment papers, she looked down at herself. Wondering how nobody questioned why she was only wearing boxers and a t shirt three sized too big for her seemingly fragile frame.

Lyra was able to get a bank teller to hand over a large sum of cash to her to use at her disposal as well, her gift doing her well on earth. After buying clothes, she changed at the store and folded Josh's clothes, placing them in one of her bags of clothes she just bought.

On her way back to the apartment, she saw a shop with food displayed in the window, her stomach letting out an obscene noise. She realized she hadn't eaten since she got here, running into the store didn't seem fast enough when the hunger fully hit her.

She sat down at a small booth, sliding the bags in and opening the salad she ordered. As she quietly scarfed down her food, chugging her black coffee, a large figure stopped at her table and looked down at her.

Lettuce sticking out of Lyra's mouth, she looked up to meet the eyes of the only person she really knew, Josh. She looked up wide eyed, pulling the lettuce into her mouth as quickly as she could while covering her mouth. "Looks like I do get to see you again." He said as he plopped into the booth, sitting across from her.

"Hi! Josh!" Lyra almost yelled, not realizing how loud she was. "Oh, I'm sorry. I just tried coffee for the first time! She said, pointing to the empty iced coffee cup beside her, pointing at it at the realization that it was empty. "Oh no, I'm all out." She smiled up at him again as he chuckled at her.

"How have you survived all this time without coffee?" He asked, joking with her. "Oh I didn't know it existed, but I do now. And I love it. This is great, where can I buy some for my home?" She asked, rattling the words off quickly as the caffiene rushed through her system.

He gave Lyra a weird look, before just smiling again as he appreciated the beauty of the small girl. "Uh, usually the grocery store." Josh bit his lip, admiring the odd girl staring back at him. Who doesn't know what coffee is or where to buy it. Josh shrugged and figured she was just a little odd. "Right, I knew that..." Lyra said as she took a bite out of the apple in front of her, juice running down her chin.

"Hey Josh. I've never shopped on my own before at a grocery store. Would you mind helping me?" Lyra said between chewing the apple. His eyes crinkled as he smiled, making Lyra take in an unexpected breath, coughing as her food went down the wrong pipe.

She composed herself quickly and waited for his answer. "Sure, let me just get some coffee." He said as he got up to go wait in the line.
