"I met someone." Josh said as he plopped onto Tyler's couch, letting his body sink in as he relaxed, looking at the thin boy. Tyler's eyes locked with his, lighting up as he smiled widely. "Yeah? What's she like?" Tyler rested his hand under his chin, sitting cross legged, now facing the older man.
"She's...really strange. Like, not in a bad way, but she's definitely unique. She's just also very peculiar, but she keeps me guessing. And she's beautiful, like all the time. The night I met her she was covered in blood and dirt and she was still just so beautiful despite the circumstances." Josh finished, Lyra popping into his mind, a smile playing on his lips as he thought about the radiant girl.
"Wait, why was she covered in blood and dirt?" Tyler looked at Josh perplexed. "Oh, she got hurt in the forest. I found her and helped her." Josh explained, making Tyler nod his head as Josh cleared it up.
"Maybe you could meet her. You would really like her." Josh said, his words coming out too fast as he got excited. "Yeah, why don't you see what she's up to?" Tyler asked eagerly. Josh chuckled heavily, "She doesn't have a cell phone." Josh sighed.
"You're right, she's definitely strange, then." Tyler smiled, making Josh laugh. "I do know where she lives though." Josh smiled and slipped his shoes on. "Let's go visit her!" Josh smiled widely at Tyler as they walked out of the door.
Lyra jumped at the sound of a knock at her apartment door, turning down the television and walking to the door. She lazily opened it to see Josh and a boy she didn't know, the small boy who was still way bigger than her, started at her with big brown eyes.
"Hi Josh!" Lyra leaped up into his arms for a hug, squeezing him for longer than most people hug for before she turned to Tyler as she started to fiddle with her fingers. Josh looked down at her, "Lyra, this is my best friend Tyler. Tyler this is Lyra."
She looked at Tyler for another second before giving him a small gently hug. "Hi, it's nice to meet you Tyler." She squeaked in her sing song voice. Tyler hugged her back, "Nice to meet you too, Josh talks about you non stop." Tyler said, earning a nudge from Josh. Lyra giggled and invited the boys in.
"Do you guys wa t some water or coffee? I know it's polite to offer your guests a drink" she trailed off as she mumbled the last part to herself. "Oh, do you have red bull?" Tyler inquired. Lyra tilted her head to the side and eyes him curiously, "Tyler you're so funny! Why would I have a bull in my apartment?" She asked, Tyler's eyes widened and Josh stifled a laugh. "Lyra, red bull is a kind of drink." Josh smiled at her reassuringly.
"Oh...i see. Maybe we should go get it then, I'd like to try one!" She said excitedly. Tyler and Josh nodded in agreement. "We can do that." Lyra threw on a pair of shoes and took long strides over to the door, the boys following behind her. She grabbed her keys and walked out of the door with the two.
"So is red bull good?" Lyra asked as they walked a block over to the closest grocery store. "Is it good?!" Tyler scoffed before continuing, "Its the best, if you like coffee, you'll love this." He smiled at her as the boys trailed ahead of her, her legs too short to keep up with them.
