I opened the door to the Apple store, my broken phone in hand. My rush to work this morning had caused me to drop it on the blacktop and my front screen to crack. I figured I would get the screen replaced after my shift at the gaming shop was over. A line was formed and I stepped behind it just as someone else went to. I bumped into their chest with a hard oof and stepped back to see who it was. 

He was tall and kind of lanky with brown shiny hair and pearly white teeth. The grimace wiped from my face because I couldn't be mad at this eye candy standing in front of me. "Oh sorry! Are you alright?" He asked with a boyish grin that made me weak at the knees. "Oh yeah, no big deal." I brushed it off with a wave of my hand. I stood awkwardly after that, not sure what to do next. "Hi! Im Joey." I smiled back and introduced myself. "Hi Im Katie, we kind of got off to a bumpy start." I said smiling at my pun. I soon learned Joey laughed with his whole body, throwing his head back, his torso vibrating. "I see what you did there." He said and I nodded. "Well since I bumped into you, you can go in front of me even though I was here first."

My mouth fell open in fake disbelief. "No i think you've got that wrong, I was here before you!" He shook his head and smiled. "Oh no, I clearly remember getting here before you." I crossed my arms over my chest and stuck my tongue out at him. He did the same back to me.

Before we knew it, the line was gone and I was next. I quickly explained what happened and the guy told me to come back in an hour. I nodded and went to leave. A strong arm gripped me, holding me back. "So, since you have an hour to spare want to go get some coffee?" I grinned at my shoes and nodded. My face turned red and I followed him out in the streets of busy L.A.
