"What is it?" Trevor asked from next to me, shaking me out of my staring at him. "Oh nothing," I lied.

Trevor and I have been best friends for about two years, but I'd started to like him as more than a best friend. I constantly try to push it out of my mind, he doesn't feel the same way. But, I'm always ending up finding myself liking him more than I did the day before.

It was really driving me insane. I could barely talk to him anymore, could rarely have an actual conversation with him and had to make up excuses not to hang out with him. Although I wanted to see him every second of the day, I didn't want him to find out as our friendship would be ruined.

"Why've you been so distant the past few weeks? Is something wrong?" he asked. I got chills down my spine. I could never lie to him. Now was the moment I'd have to tell him, without any preparation. "It's-it's because..." I trailed off. He interrupted me, "Wait, no, this is my fault. Am I being too clingy?" He was becoming frantic. I shook my head, "No no no, it's just-it's just that uh, I sorta um, I've sort of been developing feelings for you?" I stammered, saying it more as a question.

He stared at me. I immediately got worried, "It's okay if you don't feel the same. I mean I know you don't it's just-" He cut me off again, "Why do you think I don't?" My mind went blank. I'd never even factored in that he might've possibly liked me back.

"Kaela." He said, pausing for a moment. I continued my stare at him. "Kaela, I like you too." My heart was about to explode at this point. "That's, that's great!" I exclaimed, now happy. "Yeah, it is!" he said, the mood lightening.

He paused again, then said, "Will you be my girlfriend?" To which I replied with an overly excited tone, "Yes! Yes! A million times yes!"
