Chapter Thirty Eight: Affirmation

Right and Wrong cease to exist when one falls in love.

Empty--that exactly what Nandini was feeling.

She was too drained to say anything. She was too confused to make any coherent decision. She didn't knew what to do.

The moment Chachi utter those words..Nandini's world came to an abrupt halt. Yes,she knew that she was about to get engaged to Arman. Yes,she knew Manik was getting engaged to Suhana. She knew that all this was about to happen. But now when the day has actually been finalised--she was hit by this harsh reality--that she couldn't let go--of him.

Yes,she couldn't let go of Manik--she couldn't let this happen--she can't see Manik getting engaged to Suhana or anyone else --for that matter--she can't loose him--she can't even bear the thought of anyone else having him--let alone watching in unfolding it in front of her eyes --for real.

Because Manik was right along--She Was In Love With Him--YES SHE WAS IN LOVE WITH MANIK.

He was right all along. She was fighting a battle that was lost even before it began. She was just wasting time,energy and effort--by being in the state of denial--and now when she had realised the fact --it was too late.

Now she can't do anything about anything. She can neither say anything to anyone nor can she witness the union of the love of her life with her dearest friend. She was helpless. She was chocking..she was dying with every passing moment..but the worst part she can't let anyone know about the tornado that was raging inside her.

She was too broken....she knew that what was happening was the right thing but right now she simply doesn't care anymore..she doesn't give a hoot to what's ethically or morally correct--all she wants at this point of time is--MANIK --her Manik.

"There is no way I will let Arman or anyone else have you..YOU ARE MINE..ONLY MINE..I know you won't understand it now but soon you will realise that I am not wrong either."

"I know you are worried about everyone..so I promise you I will not let anything wrong happen..with anyone. No one will suffer..neither our families nor Arman nor Suhana..no one..I will make sure of that"

"But there is no way in hell I am loosing you Nandini."

Once again Manik's words started ringing in her head. He promised!!! He promised her!!!He promised that he will take care of everything!! He promised he will not let go off her!!! So how did he let this happen---how dare he agreed to get engaged to Suhana--how dare he could break his promise like that how dare he.

She needed to see him ..she needed to get answers from him--she needed to ask him how could he betray her like that--how could he break his promise like that--how.

Her reverie was broken when Chachi asked her to get ready as they were supposed to have lunch with MALIK'S at their place. So without thinking anything else she rushed back to her room. But instead of getting ready she picked her phone up and texted Manik.

"I want to meet you at the Bangalore-Mumbai highway--at Mud fort--meet me there at 4..I need some answers..so you dare not be late "

Once she saw that the message was delivered and the blue sign appeared which indicated that he had read the message..she switched her cell off --completely ignoring the fact that he was typing some response--and left to get ready to pay MALIK'S a visit.
