*★* WATTPAD FRIENDS AND FAMILY, WATTPAD FEATURED STORY & 2017 WATTYS WINNER!! *★* Preceded by rumors of their prophetic birth, pure-blood twins, Fred and George Weasley, follow in the footsteps of their three older brothers by attending a school for...
I've reached 1,000 followers! And I wanna pay you back for believing in me!
I know, what's the big deal...but gaining a steady following is one of the major milestones on Wattpad and it's all thanks to you guys. For those who have been following me from the beginning, you'll know that I just got started in January. This app has been a whirlwind of excitement that far surpassed my expectations. It's such a fun place to hang out, and I firmly believe that this is the future of fiction. I love every second of my time here!
After 12 days, and with only 500 reads, I was honored to be asked by the Wattpad staff to be a part of their Featured List. FRED AND GEORGE AND THE TOILERS OF TROUBLE has since reached a ranking of 59th place in Fanfiction, which is the most competitive genre, and the book isn't even completed!
We're about three-quarters of the way through, the best parts of YEAR ONE are forthcoming, and yet I really wanted to step back and make sure that I took a moment to thank all of you for believing in me. All your endless positivity, compliments, and encouragement have overwhelmed me in the most meaningful way. You may recall from my author notes that I started this series in 2001 and hardly shared it with anybody (like, less than 10 people), because I was nervous about being seen as an amateur author who "wrote fanfiction" - - as someone who wasn't creative enough to have his own ideas, rather than a writer with a genuine talent for storytelling who deserved the respect of his colleagues (as well as agents, publishers, and critics).
It was hard for someone like me, who's super old school, to look at what all of you guys have achieved here on Wattpad, and not immediately feel inadequate. It's because of you, and how proud you are of your uniqueness, and your desire to boldly fly your Potterhead flag, that I was willing to step out of my comfort zone and share what, to me and my family, was something that defined my writing style, and has always been something of which I was proud.
For that reason, I want to thank you in a very personal way, and I'm open to suggestions. You are following me because you love Harry Potter, and so I want to do something in keeping with that wizarding world theme. I want to give you a gift worthy of your steadfast belief and your willingness to stick with me for the awesomeness that is to come!
Ideally, I would produce new content. I am open to all ideas, even radical ones, but it can't be too time-consuming. I do all of this in my free time, which is currently being swallowed up by the edit of YEAR TWO. I am also a full-time dad (3 yr old & 1 yr old) and have to work, like most adults. Lame. Anyway, go nuts! I'd be willing to do almost anything in the vein of Harry Potter, within reason. If it's a writing project, I'd want to keep it short-ish. But don't feel like you have to give me something easy. I like a challenge. So participate, if you can, and have fun with it! Whatever you guys suggest, I'm sure it's going to be awesome. I won't let you down!
I'll be reviewing your suggestions, and will probably come to a conclusion sometime over the next week. Then I'll provide you with another update and get the ball rolling. This is SO exciting!
Thank you all for following. I'm doing this for you! And I sincerely hope to continue bringing you joy through the Weasley twins. I am, forever, your author. Here's to the next milestone!
Let the search for my expression of gratitude begin! See you in the comments!
