Q & A: Spoiler Territory

These questions brush up against a couple simple and complex spoilers. Proceed with caution, if you don't want anything in the slightest bit spoiled.

@FangTheBoarhound – What characters are we going to see more of besides the obvious ones? (Like Ramkin, Millicent Bagnold, Dandy, Lexington, etc.) @mahnoorzahid21 – What happens to Aruzula Darc? And what about the Minister? Does she resign? And how? What is Parsimonae gonna do now?

As I've said before, I really tried to model my series around the originals. That means, I introduced some characters who you may never see again, and some of whom you will. Enigmus Ramkin? Yes... Millicent Bagnold? No, she is being replaced by Cornelius Fudge, a fact which we learned in Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone. Lexington Parsimonae retains his job as a Magical Investigator. Yes, he's coming back. Aruzula Darc? Oh...we will most definitely see her again. Dandy, "Indeed! You will, Indeed!" Tenice Montague, of course. Oscar Meaney, Kenneth Towler, Benjamin Nettles, Meurial Baxter, and the rest. Yes to Sylvanus Kettleburn, Moira Mulligan, Zonko Goosefeather, Vindictus Viridian, even Iscarion Spital. And I will continue to pepper in familiar faces as we carry on, along with some new characters and creatures!

@Peanutsfan1 – Will the twins ever get their real bodies back?

Easy answer. No.

@FangTheBoarhound – I need more info on the Merry Andrews! I can tell there's more to them...

There is more. As of now, you know that a Merry Andrew is not just "a seeker of jokes", but a source of prejudice. Dumbledore called it medieval. That's about all I can say without giving away spoilers. Sorry.

@ObsessedPotter – Why did the twins have to pretend they were bad at magic? Couldn't they have just done it? Did it have anything to do with the prophecy? Oh, and why did Molly and Arthur hide the truth from them?

At first, they were dissuaded by the article in the Daily Prophet. If they'd performed well in class, maybe they would be judged, and the twins didn't want to be mocked by their fellow students. That sense of worry evolved as they found their way. The topic of prophecies and their twin birth came as a shock, because it had been kept secret. You can guess that Molly and Arthur learned more about this prophecy and others over time, especially with interest coming from Dumbledore and the Department of Mysteries. Whether they believe in the prophecies about pure-blood twins is another matter. Why hide this from their sons? My simplest response: Fred and George were kids. Dumbledore kept some things secret from Harry until he was older and better equipped to handle them.

@FangTheBoarhound – Can you tell us more about the Prophecy?

No.

@fluffyweasley – in OoTP, will we get to see Fred and George find out that Sirius and Remus are Padfoot and Prongs? Or will Ron just not mention that?

I think you meant to say Padfoot and Moony. ORDER OF THE PHOENIX takes place during Fred and George's seventh year. There's no way I would make you wait that long to see the twins learn the identities of the legendary creators of the Marauder's Map! Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs almost have more significance to their origin story than they did Harry's. You'll be pleasantly surprised, I think.

@FangTheBoarhound – Please tell me we're getting more NymphaDragon!! (Charlie x Tonks)

That's a new ship, eh? I approve! Now, how to say this without getting your hopes up, while not dashing them entirely? You...will see them interacting together in ELIXIR OF LIFE, yes.

@EowynFaramir – What does Aruzula Darc and Jeanne d'Arc have to do with what book? Just a number, seriously.

This one, it's fair to say, was quite an accidental discovery through the comments. You have a fair eye for detecting subtlety and undertones in the narrative. Yes, the choice to name her Darc was not just an emo, fanfiction-y decision. The surname refers to d'Arc. If you recall from Chapter 27, the inscription on the painting where Vindictus was imprisoned was the name Viola Darc. Any connection she could have had to Jeanne d'Arc (Joan of Arc) will be explored in books 4 and 5. You rascal...

@FangTheBoarhound – Are the Dark Force Defense League going to play a role in the whole series?

That does it for now, Weasleyfam.

I'll be back later to get through the last of your questions.
