I started spreading a really nasty rumor about Zayn: I told everybody he was gay. Everybody was in shock, as he was the quarterback on the football team. Soon enough, the rumor got to Ariana, and she naturally asked Zayn about it.

Zayn then said "Yes, I'm gay". She gasped, she couldn't believe it. It basically destroyed her, since she really loved him.

-Why are you telling me this now?- she said.

- I felt as if there were a barrier between us, and I had to break it. I can't handle lying to someone like you. I felt so guilty, I really didn't want to let you down, but being gay is simply not a choice, it's just what I feel.

- You should've told me you were gay sooner!

- I'm sorry, I was just scared of what you might think.

- It's better to be honest than lying to me all Of this time! -she said, trying to hold in the tears.

- I know, and I'm sorry.

- I'm just so confused. Let me figure out my feelings toward you and I'll talk to you later.

- It's ok, take your time.

She got on her bike as fast as she could. She went to the only place where she could cry alone: her house.

It was Friday night, which is the night in which we usually watch some old movies on Netflix. I got on my bike to go to her house, and before I knew it I was there. I knocked on her door and her mom answered. I asked for Ariana, and she said she was upstairs. I walked up the stairs and I couldn't believe what I saw when I opened her room.

Ariana was trying to kill herself, thank god I made it there in time. She had tried to hang herself with a ceiling fan and one of her dad's belts. She was purple once I arrived.

I quickly untied her, and she fell to the floor. I broke down as I saw my best friend gasping for air. I couldn't believe, I had no idea why she'd try to hang herself. She had a boyfriend, a loving family, anything a girl could ask for.

When she had finally gotten her breath, I asked her why she tried to kill herself, and she said "Zayn's gay". My heart skipped a beat. I couldn't believe it, I had caused so much trouble just because of a rumor. "Those are just rumors" I said, wiping the tears off my face.

- "No, he's actually gay. I asked him today." - she said.

I was shocked. All the rumors I spread turned out to be true. I was both happy and sad at the same time. But then I felt really bad, as I started to feel selfish. A rumor that I started had turned out to be true, and it devastated the person I loved the most in this world: my best friend.
