Three months went by and Devon and I were still dating, and Miller and I haven't been in contact in about a month now. Which meant that we haven't talked or really even looked at each other unless we passed each other in the hall ways. I was glad that summer was just a few days away and then Devon and I could spend everyday together. He has met my parents and I have met his. His parents have met mine and mine have met his. We all get along with each other and I'm glad that my parents haven't seen his dad drunk yet. I was hoping that they would never see his dad drunk.

"Grace! Grace! Hurry!"

My mom yelled my name from downstairs. I came rushing down and saw my dad laying in the floor.

"Quick! Call 911!"

I rushed over to the phone and called the paramedics and they said they would come as fast as they could.

"What happened?" I yelled. The tears were streaming down my face already.

"I don't know! He just fell over!"

I was so scared and the paramedics came running through the door in ten minutes and took over. I called Devon right away and he came running over.

"What happened?" he asked.

I was crying and could barely get my words out. "I don't know...he just fell!"

Devon grabbed me and held me tight. He didn't let go and I was glad.

"My parents are coming. We can drive you to the hospital." he said.

In minutes their car was at my house and Devon and I got into the car and he held me the whole way. We got there and we all rushed in right away.

"I need to see my dad!" I told the nurse.

"What is his name?" she asked.

"Colton Phillips."

She typed his name and looked at me. She looked worried and just stared at me.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"He passed away a few minutes ago during the drive in the ambulance. I'm so sorry."

I just starting to cry even more and Devon held me tighter in his arms and tried to comfort me, but I just couldn't hold it together.

"He is in a room 315 right now if you would like to see him before they put him in a bag.."

"Do you want to see him?" Asked Devon.

"Yes, that would be nice."

He helped me to the room and held my hand the whole way. His parents stood in the waiting room to give us some privacy. I got to the room and my mom was holding his hand praying and crying.

"Baby came here." she said In a soft voice.

"How'd he die?" I asked.

"They told you?"

"Yes mom."

"A heart attack."

I put my head on her shoulder and Devon put his hand on my shoulder. I cried and so did my mom. I felt useless and wanted to go home.

"Can I go home?"

"Sure sweetie. I'll be home soon. Can you give her a ride home Devon?"

"Anything you need Mrs.Calum."

"Thank you so much."

I kissed my dad's hand goodbye and walked out of the room. I could barely walk so Devon gave me a piggy back ride down the elevator and to the car.
