It's been about three hours until my mom came home. She walked in and didn't say a word. She walked up the stairs with no consent of me.
"Mom," I spoke.
She didn't answer...she wouldn't even look at me. When she got to the top, I walked up the stairs and didn't say a word. I crawled to her bedroom and peeked around the corner. She looked at me and then the mirror. I stoop up and stood in the doorway.
"I'm sorry." I said.
"That's all I needed."
"What do you mean?"
She looked at me and walked over. "All I needed was a sorry." She gave me a hug.
"I never meant for any of this to happen." I responded.
"I know," she rubbed my back, just like she did when I was younger and when I didn't feel good. We let go of our hug and I walked to my room and grabbed my phone.
"Grace," she said walking into my room. "You and Miller need to work some stuff out."
"I know." I responded. "That's why I'm calling him."
She nodded and walked out. I called Miller and told him to meet me at my house. He got there in about five minutes. He rang the doorbell and my mom answer.
"Come on in Miller." She spoke very monotone.
"Did you tell your parents?" I asked.
"Yup," he responded while letting out a breath.
"What happened?" I asked.
"Yelling, grounding, talking and information..." He took his hands out of his pockets. "They kicked me out..."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"They said that I'm responsible enough to have a kid...so I'm responsible enough to live on my own."
My jaw dropped and my mom looked at me.
"You can stay here...I guess." My mom told him. I didn't even have to ask him.
"Are you sure?" He asked.
"Yeah...the baby needs a father."
I smiled at my mom and she grinned at me. My mom shut the door as Miller walked in.
"I need to get my stuff then." He said.
"I'll come with." I responded.
We walked out and he gave me hug. "Why a hug?" I asked.
"I needed one." He said.
We got in his car and drove to his house and walked in. His parents saw me and started to mumble.
"Just ignore them," he said.
I nodded and walked to his room. He had four boxes and five bags. I grabbed three boxes and two bags. Miller grabbed the rest. We walked out and that was it. Nothing bad happened and nothing good.
"Thanks," he said while shoving everything in his car.
"I'm surprised they let you keep the car." I responded.
"I paid for it...remember?"
I smiled and got in. I looked at the house and he drove off. It was my last time I was in his house. It was probably the last time he was in that house as well. We got to my house and unpacked his stuff. I made my bed so it fit the two of us. Time was going by slow but that was okay. My mom checked in and helped a little and then left. I emptied out two drawers of mine for his stuff. From then on...time flew by.
